I heard a stereo clip from Dan Leal with one and thought it sounded pretty good.....are the original algorithms better than the HOF 2 ones? Logic would have it that the HOF2 would be the same or better than the HOF1?????

The used ones are $80-100 and a new HOF2 is only $119 and I can return the new on if it doesn't sound like this clip.....

I don't hear anything particularly special about that reverb BUT I do not hear anything particularly bad about it either, which is easy for a verb to do IME. Sounds like you already have a good plan - get the new one so you can return it if you don't like it and then have the option to grab the old one.

After more contemplation.....I had forgotten about the Catalinbread Talisman.....so i picked up a mint Talisman to try out......it sounded better than the HOF and had some more features that I liked, pre-delay and others.:2thumbsup:

We shall see.....

Nice! I've never gotten to try the Catalin stuff yet but have always been interested. I have never been a fane of the HOF myself. Hope it works out well!

Little late, but I really like the reverb from my Zcat Pedals Delay Reverb. They make a stereo reverb only pedal I was interested in (Before I went with an FX8).
Big Reverb TI Stereo

Stereo would have been better but I like what I hear and it's not $400 bucks.

That is how I feel about the HOF2. It is very clear sounding, kinda boring, but it sounds good. Nothing really special, but nothing really bad either.

I didn’t need it but I bought one of these and I think it’s pretty good for $80.00
