In the comments he says its EL84 based.
is the 6505 mini el84 based?
 
I think EL84's sound more like EL34's than 6L6's do. Should be an interesting amp.

Agree. That's why the Tweaker 15 was so cool. Low power but could still use an el34.

Yes it is. I preordered one anyway. I owned 5 or 6 of the mini heads that were El84 and kept none. I should just get the Splawn Super Sport that at least has 6v6.
 
Yeah surprised that more amps don't go 6V6. That said, sometimes EL84 's deliver the crunchy tight highs and i like them for that. Fall apart a bit when pushed too much but hey, these are perfect for mic'ed situations. From what I have heard, I thought the mini 6505 sounds pretty damn good.
 
I love the 6V6's in my Bogner Duende...killer little amp with those tubes and surprised how well they hold together when I turn it up. I like them better than 84's
 
I am holding out for the Microscopic 1 watt. Size of a pack of smokes.

I'm kind of excited as this is small enough I could bring it as a backup to my 100 watt at gigs. It supposed to be just the green and blue channel which is perfect for me. I enjoy my EVH 50 watt and 2x12 for rehearsal but the shared eq on channel 1 and 2 forces me to use the red channel instead of the blue since I need my clean channel very clean.
 
He goes through the whole video with a guitar in hand and a picture of an amp. And continues to yammer on. :doh:
 
Seems like it'll be too much cost wise. Possibly $700-$800? Ehhh.....

Me too. That's why my 50 watt is relegated to just rehearsal use.

Uh.... just get one and don't use the red channel.
