Loop Boost?

What do you guys like for boosting solos?

I was using a Barber tone press for awhile with the blend knob at noon. I have a Koko in the loop now, big upgrade.

Easy and No pedals involved just jumper the loop, run a cable from the send to the return on the amp without any pedals in the loop, then you can turn the effect mix knob to figure out how much boost you want. I have done this wil ever amp ive owned in the last 5 years and luckily they all had efx on and off on the footswitch.

I always use rhythm cut instead of a solo boost in the loop.
Sometimes a Boss FV500L, sometimes a Boss LS-2, could even use a diy pedal that just has a 25k pot and 3PDT, I think Friedman makes something along those lines.

The LS-2 can be used to bring in my solo delay too:
Set the LS-2 to A<->B mode
Leave Loop A empty, but drop Loop A volume a little, this is my rhythm tone, Hit the footswitch to go to Loop B which is back at unity and has my delay pedal in.

Hey Tristan. I was thinking about getting the Koko. Can you tell me more about how the mid boost works out for you in the loop? Specifically if you could tell me how it compares to having the mid boost in front of the amp.

I have been using this for a long time, 5 years or more. Cheap and doesn't color your sound, just a boost.

I've been using an Xotic EP Booster in the loop for 4yrs now.........
I have also tried my RC Booster in the loop and that worked well too much to my surprise.....

Lots of great options out there right now to choose.......I am going to get a Koko Boost to try real soon......
