Used to use one of these back in the day and it worked great. From creation audio labs.

This is what i use in my rig as well. Works great in the loop( last in line) after my processor to boost leads etc.
Its bascially a 2nd master volume the way im using it and theres been no issues. No excessive noise or tonal coloration. I recommend it!

Just picked up one of these myself for a lead boost. Really digging it so far.

THIS ^^^^ ALL DAY LONG!!! B

Boss GE-7 EQ. You can set it flat or use the EQ to boost mids etc. It's transparent. Plus the switch doesn't make a click noise when you engage it.

I run a two amp rig.... On amp A (Boogie Mini Recto), I use an OCD out front as a clean boost. On the amp B (Hughes and Kettner Tubemiester) Im running a GMajor 2 in the loop and have a couple of "lead" presets with reverb/delay that I bump up the preset volume on for a little boost.

I used the boosta grande in the loop for quite a while. Cheap and got the job done.
