I would thing a “claimed” EVH body with no documenting and without original neck wouldn’t be worth 20k
I would too i don't get it.
Lesbian Zombies is the only logical answer.

I couldn’t possibly love Ed more than anyone out there. And I could not drop $20k for a $450 guitar that Ed owned, just because Ed owned it. Some people will, and God bless them. I am not one of them.

Not am I.

So the guy he got it from bought it off reverb for a grand, sold it for 20k a couple days later, and now this guy is going to auction it for a huge amount?

I would love it if it went for like 700 bucks at auction. The guy who owns it now is a very bizarre dude.

People want the papers and proof

yeah, I didn't quite follow the issue with the neck...or how it was resolved. Did he say which neck is currently on it?

The unfinished guitar with the yellow arrow pointing at it which is the same guitar laying on the floor in the photo shoot with Ed became what was known as the Rude guitar in ‘81 . Ed repainted it in ‘82 and it was then known as the Rasta guitar . Ed talked in GP 1980 that the body was a bit thicker than a standard Strat in hopes to get a fatter sound . Dweezil Zappa has the guitar now . I just skimmed thru the vid with the sound off so apologies if any of that was noted

It’s an aftermarket neck and questionable and unverifiable body. To me, the original neck would be far more valuable than the body

It was put on the Frankie in the mid 90s. I asked this question in the thread I linked in post #13 and that's the answer I received.

I wish I was smart enough to fake that body. $20,000 cash with no definable story or paperwork sounds like a dream.

I wonder if the highest bid at auction will be $650 for his parts guitar ?
