Unless Dave manufactures the wire and components and personally oversees the assembly by qualified Oompa Loompas, I won't buy one because quality could be compromised. I also won't buy if more than 1 is made per month, again, quality.
I won't buy one unless the wire is spun from the cocoon of the finest silk and the assembler drinks the premium of breast-milk averaging 2 amps per year ... :D

Sadly, there is really nothing vintage VH-ish about the EVHIII amp.

Have you heard Pete Thorn's demo? He comes pretty damn close. I know he's Pete Thorn, but still.

These threads just make me rolls my eyes...I mean really who cares?

I wouldn't worry about Dave handling the QC on his own amps. I can tell you he scrutinized our manufacturing down to the component and wire routing level.

I know this would be juicier if there was drama involved, but it just didn't go down that way. Yes, there were logistics involved and headaches for everyone along the way. But ultimately we parted ways as friends and fellow amp geeks.

I think we should avoid introducing facts into this conversation.

I believe that the ulimate design of the amp is more important than who actually builds the amp - as long as the builders are reputable.

about VH tone? I mean come on, what about ALL the new bands coming out with VH inspired tones and riffs...... :scared:

All amps are hand wired and will stay that way. Will there be a different amp down the line that is pcb based? Maybe. Not anytime soon though.

It's a great rock tone. Not just vh. It can be what the player makes it. Led Zep, zz top, jazz fusion etc etc. Really can be whatever style you play.

I see, rather I hear no issues with PCB based amps. I also have no problem with fuel injection or music on digital media (although I do prefer it to be uncompressed).

I can dig it George. You're not seeing drama but what about those workers you had there in the shop with you. What's happening with them? Those folks looked pretty cool. Do you think them guys losing their jobs might be a little drama?

Agree. The 2204/03, Mesa Mark IIC+, Soldano SLO, Diezel VH4: IMHO some of the greatest amps ever built, and all are PCB based. But that won't stop the Internet from wanting to stone Friedman if he makes the switch.

Do you think that is our business knowing what goes on there? I don't.

I'm not concerned really with a collective mission - "our business". Your opinion noted Jim.

The question stands. What has and is going to happen with the workers?
