Low of 30 tonight

this is actually the first "spring" we've had in at least a few years. Usually I have about a two week gap between freezing temps and people screaming for air conditioning. This year has been pretty lovely save for a couple hot days and a couple very cold nights.
Yeah, those “no spring” years were rough, especially for gardens. We had one way back and as the garden was coming up, I had to water every day in dry 85 degree temps. After the sun went down.

I always recycle. :dunno: (y)
Me too, but the system has me wondering. What use to be separate containers for different materials at the collection site is now everything thrown in together. My goal is to find out when the trucks come for pickup & dumping and follow them to see where it goes.

That shit makes me wonder too. On top of that I watched something years ago about how only 2 of the many types of plastic are recyclable. IIRC 1 of them can only be recycled once but maybe it was both. That was about 5 years ago.

I saw a program on Netflix that said most recycling goes in a landfill and it’s all a scam.

I briefly worked in a recycle/sorting plant when I was 18. A sizable portion does go to landfill. But here's the reason: Assholes mix actual garbage in with their recycle bin. There's no way to sort in a cost effective manner when that happens, so they just have to shove it off the line taking actual recyclables with it.

IIRC. There were two types of plastic bottles. One was real common for ketchup, and it had multi layers, It could not be mixed in with the other bottles. The rest were all the same except color.

Arctic blast coming? Fuck that!

I guess that Piccassholes " Electric Pickle " has had enough dark days in Picassholes " Echo Chamber " .

Our town has us separate all the different types of containers. There are nearly a dozen different categories. Some one buys it from the town. I don’t know what they do with it, but all of our recyclables pay for the operating costs for the facility.

That’s the way ours use to be, different containers for different materials. I showed up one day with a load and every container was labeled for glass, plastic, cardboard and newspapers/magazines all in together. Made no sense.
