I experimented with lots of speakers in my newer Soldano 4x12.
I love V30s, but 4 of them in that cab was too much. Too loud, too harsh.
4 Greenbacks were great, but I preferred those in my old Marshall 4x12.

I ended up using V30s and Scumback BM75-LDs in an x-pattern for the Soldano cab. It has the bite of the V30s, but the volume and harshness is smoothed out and complimented by the grind and richness of the Scummies.

I didn't like v30/gb mix in either 4x12. Something good is cancelled out with that combo, imo.
How did the Soldano with greenbacks compare to the marshall 4x12 with he same speakers?

Once broken in, the 65 watt Creamback-M really does bring a lot of what I hear and recognize in the Greenback. But they are a bit stiff and boxy when new, and I think a lot of M-Creamback hate is from folks who gave up on them too soon / cycled newer ones through without giving them time to soften up.

I do like the fact that at 65 watts, the Creamback M is closer in power rating to the V30's 60 watts. I absolutely love the M65 Cream with the V-30. I have them paired in a ported 2x12 and I have them in an X in a straight front 4x12. The Creamback brings the mids and the warmth and the V30 brings the tighter lows and high end sizzle. To me, this combo captures the Greenback JBL mojo pretty well.
