major flatulation

I left the only part of your statement that represents something that you've actually done in a serious manner. burp

Shows what you know. I've seriously verped too.

I'd honestly say, have your singer just sing a really good natural note, and just tune it to that note. We all know hes going back there anyway.

Is verping the same thing as larping?

Just Drop D on a guitar that's normally in Eb ;-)

9.5's on a 25.5 scale. 10's on les paul.

D standard with 10's to play some Motley Crue songs

One of the main reasons I started playing in D standard was to cover Crue, and decided it made the rest of the stuff we did easier to sing as well. Been in this tuning ever since.

Db Ab Db Gb Bb Db is what I used in the video below, and is probably as low as I will go.

For recording I sometimes use an SG set up to B E A D G B... But that's more for Baritone thingis.

Straight G. Some B. Dropped C.

HUGE FUCKING STRING SETS LOL.

my dropped C is .63 to .13 only gets bigger from there.

I love big strings, but I have a vitamin B12 deficiency that makes my hands get tired fast. I can't do a wound G string either which tends to go along with them. G standard is pretty friggin' low hehe! What's your main rig like that you play through with that tuning?

Drop A on my Ibanez Prestige RG (13-62) is as low as I'll go. Usually it's in B standard but sometimes I feel like playing along with Pig Destroyer's drop A songs, although .62 tuned to A is still a bit floppy.

I tried for Bb standard to play along to some older 7-string death metal songs, but it was a mess and I'm out of my depth when it comes to intonating an Edge Pro.

Been using Open A# for a while now and love it. 25.5" scale with Ernie Ball Cobalt 10-52 strings. Other guitar is Drop C# that currently has 9-42 and is fine but I'll probably put some 10's on that one. Most of my "songs" are done with the Open A#.

Open A#
1.

2.

2. in a mix

Everything for me is axe fx 2 into vht 2150. Yea it took a long time to get used to big ones but I like the tone .

2150 = never having to wonder if another power amp with sound better than the one you currently own. The AFX2's sound killer, but I don't love the crap out of technology, and I can't get over the fact that the "feedback" I get from playing through something digitally makes me truly believe that the very first part, (and maybe even the very last part) of each note has been "cut off." At any rate, I'll bet the big strings have the ballz! I remember an interview with SRV where he talked about using 12-56 at only a half step down. He said something like, I like to use big strings, tune down, and floor it! but my guitar tech gets sick of refretting my guitar. ;) I used to do 11-60 during the 90's tuned to drop C#, (I actually don't like drop tuning, but I replaced the original player who liked that tuning, and I had to follow suit), but no way the muscles in my hands, fingers, and forearms would deal with that for more than about 5-10 minutes these days. I'm having enough trouble trying to play my own songs, that are at the fastest, about 190bpm with a combo of 1/16th alternate and 1/8 down picked notes. During parts of the faster songs where I actually hold a chord for more than a micro second, I actually have to "shake" my forearm out in between chords and re-adjust my pick, all the while trying to sing on top of it! It's been so painful before, that I've forgotten my own lyrics, because I'm focussing on my muscle pain/cramping! In those cases though, I will just pull a "cookie monster" vocal, and sing watermelon over and over. The kids in the crowd never notice, because it's pretty much the "go to" voice for most of the other bands there anyway lol! Don't even get me started on having to play in F# where I used almost zero open chords, and I LOVE the sound of F# songs!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Interesting note about cramping. I noticed that it usually happens to me during long rhythm sections. I think I may need to breather more effectively, because if I start moving around at all and getting into it, the cramp intensifies. Solos are like a breath of fresh air that allows my hand/cramp issues to recharge.

If I don't start on my 6 string for warmup, that 8string makes my hand feel like I sprained something the next few days

Drop G on my 7 string 26.5 and drop A on my 25.5 . I love the D adario 59-10 7 string set. Works well for me. On my six stringers drop c is were its at for me on a 52-10 set.

Got my warlock fitted with 11's tuned to drop C and my beast fitted with 13's tuned to drop A.
I used to use 13's for the warlock and baritone stings for the beast but it took away some of the edge and crunch

Most of My Guitars are in "D" Standard & i use Dean Markley Blue Steel 11-52(with the .18 unwound G string) or i use D'addario EXL 116 11-52. I sometimes will tune to C# Standard & i use the same strings.

Actually, if i tune to E OR E flat....I also use the same strings.
