Called Luxxtone just now and low and behold Jerry picked up on the first ring. Damn, the guy was so friggin nice over the phone that I thought he was going to invite me over for thanksgiving dinner...
Probably the nicest person I've ever conversed with in this business.

So true! I'm fortunate enough to live within driving distance of the Luxxtone shop and get a chance now and then to stop by and drop off or pick up a guitar that's been worked on. Their work is truly the best. I highly recommend paying them a visit if you're in Southern California. Great guys that really know their stuff. I always learn a lot with each visit.

He said he could do a Floyd on this guitar, but I would have to remove the nut every time an adjustment need be made to the trussrod. In his words,,,"a pain in the ass". So, I'm going to send him the axe and he is going to dial it in to stay in tune much better since the trem on it is a very nice all brass 6 screw type. He assured me that once done, I will be happy. Very cool. Better yet he talked me into doing another build.
My fingers are going to love it but probably not my wallet. Ha.

Get a Floyd this time.

The Axe in Question.
Dude - you should just throw a Floyd on it with some locking tuners and just forget the locknut. I can tell that you are determined to get the locknut, but the guitar will have fine tuning stability under bar use with locking tuners and the Floyd...

Steve

Best advice so far.

I've been playing for close to 40 years and the number of times I've had to adjust a truss rod I could count on one hand. I'd go for the full Floyd with locking nut personally, but that's just me...

Did you buy it new? Should've just went floyd from the start if so but if not I can see it.
Bought used from Brad Brad Bo Bad....

Ah gotcha... ;) Well I'd think they should be able to get the regular trem working for you soon enough.

Good point Steve. This may actually be the best way to go. I'll keep you guys posted. Got an email out to both Jerry and Dave
Len

Hi Lanier,

I just saw this thread - but I didn't get an email. No worries since you reached Jerry. Let me know if I can help.

I actually do what Steve says - I don't lock the nut on my Floyd, I use locking tuners. Rarely use the fine tuners. I use 11s to 13s on my guitars, and the fine tuners don't do much damage with those   .
