“All of the guitars on that record were recorded pretty straight forward and without a lot of overdubs or effects. There are two rhythm tracks on all of the songs, one done with a Bogner Uberschall and the other with a Diezel VH4. Both are really nice amps and very similar in tone. For the solos, I used the Bogner and a Marshall JCM800 (vertical jack) that was modified by John Suhr.

For my clean and jangly tones, I used a GT solo. I believe that’s the name of it. It’s a small 1X12 combo that you can swap the tubes out in. I used everything from the EL84 to KT88’s. It’s an awesome sounding amp, and I have to thank Aspen Pitman for coming up with that one…”

One of my favorite Lynch albums. I enjoyed how he reimagined those songs. Of course, he still sounded like himself. I saw the Lynch Mob on that tour, in a tiny club in Sacramento. Seriously crunchy.

I saw him play at Key Club in Hollywood when this record came out. Stood right in front of him for the whole gig. He holds his pick really weird.

He had an EMG 81 in the bridge position of his black ESP Baritone Viper that he played that night. It had a "Furious George" sticker placed between the pickups. They recorded the "REvolution LIVE!" album at that gig, so everything you hear on that record is Lynch through an EMG 81. Funny thing is that I was at the Key Club for the first time, not realizing that I was standing on hallowed ground...Key Club used to be Gazzari's, where Van Halen first held court on the Sunset Strip. Life is strange. LOL

I was wondering what pickup he was using. Interesting he was using an emg 81. Thanks for the info and that had to be fun to watch.
