This music has had it's day. Rehashing it in 2014.....it's bar band shit at best. This guy can only do one thing and his time is long gone. Trying to look cool with the ciggy is pathetic. I feel sorry for these 80's guys. The music has no longevity.

As to what your playing? Please enlighten me :)

Nah, doesn't have the same fire and phrasing he did in the show i posted this morning from 1991. That said, this latest outing is the strongest band he has had in a while and the singer is pretty solid. Feel bad for him in spots because Lynch's timing and dicking around is throwing him off. You see some of his old self shine through but ultimately he goes wayyyyy off on the improv in other parts. The into the Fire solo in this show was horrible.

REALLY???...Oh ok whatever you say  I as well as many others seemed to enjoy it, but thanks for your expert analysis and critique as that really helps me understand you a bit more

Last I checked this was an open forum where we are allowed to have opinions.. are you on the same one? But hey, you are right, because you and 5 other people thought it was great I should probably change my mind and agree that Lynch was incredible....

The guy has it in him but the improv bits have got to go. They aren't working.. has nothing to do about growing as a musician because listening back he should be able to hear where he is not "on". Again though, that is just my non Lynch nut hugging "expert" analysis and critique.

You are certainly intilted to your opinion and yes this is an open forum, although you are quite the critic and that is all I was saying and I stand by that .
I will just enjoy it and not try to compare it to early Lynch or whatever and you can go on analyzing it all you want

Fair enough, its is your right to critique the critic after all!

Me? I'm a hobbyist. I had a great time, starting at 15, playing out, though out the 70's and 80's. I play for my own enjoyment, with nothing to prove.
Pretending I'm a rock star at 60 years old (or whatever his age is) isn't on my bucket list.

Easy to slam a guy like Lynch but what is he supposed to do atthis point? Music is his life and career. I admire anyone that can make a living in the music business. Better than working a 9-5.

I agree! I will never slam Lynch!! He is still making music and touring and most of the newer stuff is good. Seen him live a few times in the past 6 years and he has sounded and played great every time!!

Agreed

I love the new KXM disc...I also loved Kill All Control. I'm good with the direction George is going. Not sure if folks here want him to just churn out more Under Lock and Key.....he's obviously moved on from that.

Can't argue with that.

+1 - quintessential bar/garage band material at best.

My only question to the original poster is "What, what does Lynch still have?" Chicken pocks or genital herpes?

Lackluster at best. The singer blows!

THANK YOU. I mean there are times when I am negative about his past 20 years of writing/playing, but it looks like George is trying to do the right thing and build up a little nest egg so he can retire one day and not become a burnout. If you think Lynch is a burnout, you are mistaken. Burnouts won't let go of their heydays, and always like to talk about "man back in the day . . .". Lynch seems to be going with the flow and staying as current as much as an 80's guitar god can be. Playing music that made you famous 20-30 some years later is not being a burnout, that is if you can still "bring it" and make money along the way.

Do you think Randall or any other company Lynch has his name attached to would risk sinking money into a failed product if it wasn't selling?

Pro-shot !!!

And here

Man, that bottom video had some wicked licks in it. Really cool. Im with the dude that said more power to anyone that can make a living in the music business. I tried and failed. He did it and is still doing it. If guys dont like the music he plays, that a whole different discussion.

I understand not digging the music, but man, Lynch IS a rock star at 60. I'm not gay (not that there's anything wrong with that :D ) but he looks pretty damn good for 60. :scared:

Sounded pretty good. That was my local show (San Diego). I probably should have went.

I am a big time Lynch fan...

Bought all the all the dokken albums on VINYL/Cassette as they were released..

Seen him many times with Dokken back in the day and with Lynch Mob...

I think his time has gone and went pretty much.

As far as that video goes, I thought guitar tone was nothing to write home about and that it was boring as shit musically...

Lynch "having it" seems to come and go. Every time I write him off, he does something that "wows" me, and every time I say he's back, he releases some sort of suck fest.

Beyond that, I give him major props for not just resting on his past success and doing the county fair circuit like a lot of his peers. He continues to experiment with pushing his own personal boundaries which I respect regardless of whether or not I like the results. He chose to get away from the dick-measuring contest of the late 80's/early 90's and tap into sounds and textures as opposed to speed and flash which to me shows that he's more of a true artist (for better or worse) and not just a guitar slinger.
