George has been a Bad-azz for 40 years and pretty much always will be.

Lynch is different every time, literally every song.

Bonamassa is a Badass too but people that play like Eric Johnson sound the same every song to me.

Couldn't have said truer words. He experiments so much with his songs that you really can't hear the same solo twice. It is a blessing and yet a curse . . .

I love the new KXM disc...I also loved Kill All Control. I'm good with the direction George is going. Not sure if folks here want him to just churn out more Under Lock and Key.....he's obviously moved on from that.

I could only hope that he would churn out more Under Lock and Key and Back For The Attack. If someone asked about George Lynch, would you have them listen to anything he has done in the last 15 yrs? I doubt it. And Im in no way bashing anyone or saying that he is a poor player. But its funny when people post recent stuff about their favorite 80s shredder, then get mad when people say they like the earlier stuff way better. I could list a ton of players that into this category. I agree with Kapo on this one. The phrasing is not as good as it used to be. But again, that is just an opinion. As a player, I couldnt do one percent of what Lynch can do but that isnt the point, so dont go there. But let the guy have an opinion when he doesnt like every single thing a player has done. Want to talk disappointment? Lets talk waiting for 20 yrs and hearing Jake E. Lee's new project. But I better not say anything critical about his playing...someone who he talked to for five minutes at a club gig who is now his most biggest super duper fan might get upset. But just like a wise man said: "Antartic Blue? I thought you ordered Metallic Pea."

Pro-shot !!!

And here

Man, that bottom video had some wicked licks in it. Really cool. Im with the dude that said more power to anyone that can make a living in the music business. I tried and failed. He did it and is still doing it. If guys dont like the music he plays, that a whole different discussion.

Yeah man I'll say this, George has never been a smooth, clean player BUT he's always had a particular mojo. Still a GL fan.

  80's are over, dude.....those releases are 25+ years old. Lynch's playing on KAC and KXM are stellar....

But I get that a lot of folks here are still clinging to the 80's....much like TGP clings to the 70's.....

Then why does every member of this forum want an amp that sounds like Invasion Of Your Privacy? So, yes, Im clinging to the eighties and I will do so until they plant me in the ground.

The dude gets bashed beyond belief, but the fact of the matter is that he's a freakin badass. I mean c'mon man...the dude tears that shit up! Phaser...gloves...cigs hangin...sig amps as stage props.......who cares??? Dude is a freakin badass...period!

George still has "it", like all of us it's tough finding people around you who inspire you and you can trust, not all shows, albums or songs translate.

BUT....>>> Let me just say, there is a project brewing that is taking things back to the raw creativity and inspiration we had when we were 15, before managers, rock stars, bla...bla..bla..
Two guys going nuts in the "Devils laboratory" creating sounds, riffs and crazy shit!

Yeah a bad ass for 40 years, dude is in great shape, still plays his ass off....

What else you want ?

Watched in full screen - on my cell, lol.

Players like Peter Frampton, Kerry Livgren, Don Henley, Warren DiMartini, Michael Schenker, Randy Rhoads, Joe Walsh and David Gilmour are all known for their solo 'phrasing' abilities... George Lynch is a very talented player, but what memorable solo 'phrase' has he ever written?

Off the top of my head...Alone Again, Tooth and Nail, Into the Fire, In My Dreams (GFTPM Solo of the Year Award '86), The Hunter, Heaven Sent, Lost Behind the Wall, Walk Away, Wicked Sensation, and Through These Eyes all jump out at me as having well constructed solos with great phrasing. I'm sure I would add to this list if I sat down and listened to the albums again.

I cannot remember a single one of those solos from memory. Just never cared for his soloing I guess. I love his rhythm stylings! I use them often when I'm 'doodling'.

Been watching Lynch for 20 years, and didn't know he smoked?

He just took it up in order to distance himself from his former self... i.e. body builder

+100 for me on this. His stuff still sticks out to me. Solos...riffs.... Guy just brought it to the table and delivered.
Still would listen to a 'off' lynch concert then Eric Johnson....or any of the other shredders out there.
But I am a Lynch Fanboi and while I dont care for all his work.....he is still a Rock star.
I really dont see him coming across like he is though. Humble guy.....sets up his own pedal board (Seen this numerous times)
But hey....people gonna like what they like...and bash who they want. No biggie. At the end of the day?
He is still George Lynch and everyone else here has never ever hit his level of 'big time'.....(Might be a better 'technical' player)
Ask any guitarist if they know George Lynch....pretty much the answer will be yes.
Ask me if I know who wilford Godfrey is or what ever the hell his name is
Joe Banana or again...dont know his name or work.....Nope. :aww:
Guess I never get out of my sheltered world.
But again.....your here....and he is doing his thing. :D

I agree Rupe. But that just goes along with what I said earlier...dont see very many examples of his recent work on your list. I miss GFTPM. Those were the days.

I dig this one from last year's T&N album...he starts with some slow lyrical phrasing then catches a bit of his old fire as the solo builds. It starts just after the 3 minute mark.
