M4 Preamp users?..Can you plug it into a head FX Loop??

I'm going to go modular...[about time].....I was just wondering if the M4 preamp could be plugged into the FX return of a guitar head...basically using the amp as a power amp?...also...How do you run your FX?,,,,Does the M4 have a loop??? there's no info on Egnater's website...not even a picture....thankx
 
1. yes, go to FX return

2. The point of a preamp and a power amp is that it's like a pure serial fx loop. M4 out -->fx unit in-->fx unit out --> power amp in. Loops usually suck, FTMP. That said, the serial loop in the seminar head is nearly perfect.

The M4 does not have its own loop.
I have experimented with plugging it into the return of a
Diezel VH4S, It sounded good, similar to using the M4 with a rack tube power amp.
It did retain some of the Diezel flavor, so the Diezel power amp section
clearly has an influence on how those amps sound,
but overall it wasn't a huge difference from the VH4S alone or the M4 into a VHT 2502.

As far as signal chain, I would go guitar->M4->FX->amp return.
 
I run my M4 through the series loop of the MOD50 and it sounds great. I highly suggest you get an M4 and try it out.
 
Yea, I ran my My and my IE4 into a Randal RM50B for a long time. I still love the sound of that rig probably the best to be honest, since the power section of the Randall is the MOD50. I did run into a few amps it did not like. VHT Pit Bull for one. Ugly.
