Mako Mak4 Preamp.....

I'm not sure what the going rate is now. I kind of bought it on a whim during the pre-sale - just made it on the list in time because the price was too good to be true. I know several people who had the MP, D or Mak2 heads and loved them - so I figured it was worth a shot. It paid off. It's worth alot more than what I paid. :rock:

Right now it is $975.

With the $75 coupon code "mak4" it is $900 plus shipping until the 4th. And then that is it for coupons. Sorry folks.
 
Even at $975, it's still a steal.

Seriously, these things would sell like hotcakes at $1500.

there is one floating around on youtube unless he pulled it, fastredponycar should be doing a review/clip as soon as he gets his, I will as well..... just waiting :D

The dorado channel kills with my 2/90/2. I like the makoplex best with my 2/50/2. Overall though, I think the 2/90/2 sounds best with this pre-amp. :rock:

Here are the specs (other than the obvious) I got from Andrew,


It has 6 tubes.
No loop. Just be a man and put a efx unit between it and a power amp.
It has 2 output jacks.
The footswitch uses a Cat5 cable. That is a internet style cable available anywhere. I avoided using some freaky 7 and 1/2 pin midi cable that nobody can buy when they need it for that night's gig etc.
There are also 1/4 jacks on the back so people can use external midi relay controllers etc.

Yep, its a killer preamp and probably the best money I ever spent on any piece of music gear. I think I paid $850 shipped for mine at the intro price when they first came out. Just a sick deal and worth double that in my opinion. I'm working on Andrew to get the matching power amp into production but he seems pretty busy with cabs and such presently. I guess the VHT 2150 will suffice until he gets around to it. :yes: :lol: :LOL:

Srommes and Sleewell - yeah was wondering when this Thread was coming to present BUT

as long as you're here- is this pre voiced mostly for Metal and Harder stuff or will it do warm, sweet tones , clean to medium gain but warm ( vaguely Gilmour, EJ, Timmons ) smoother tones or would it need to be revoiced ?
