Thanx
I wou;d run normal dirt in first then delays in the loop so I basically would put them in line after the preamp basically not needing a loop correct since it is after the pre before power as an effects loop on a marshall does right??
But,, I use pedals so that kinda squashes me wantin one so guess Ill get another damn xtc

No loop on the Mak4, 2 direct outs only.

FX would be up front, dems da breaks - or sure, some Pre > FX Module > Poweramp set up.

Yes, the boosts/distortion would need to come up front but this thing has so much gain, you may not need one. The time based effects such as reverb/delay are usually best placed after preamp. Since there is no loop, this would mean between the preamp and poweramp. As stated above, alot of stomp boxes will not deal well with line level signal so if you use them for your effects they will need to come before the preamp. My quadraverb is old but it works and I like it and I know it will handle line level signal so I plan to place it between the preamp and power amp. I was wondering if I will need to change the patches dramatically due to signal level differences since it is currently being run in a loop. I guess I'll have to wait and see. The only thing I plan to run as a stomp box in front of the amp is a wah, a Scream Cheese which is basically a tube screamer, and possibly a chorus pedal. I may use the chorus/flange on my quadraverb between the preamp/power amp instead. I'll just have to experiment when it gets here and see how it sounds.
