I've found that the HC sounds best with the reverb tube removed. Run a good EQ and Lexicon reverb in the loop, and you are good to go!

Yeah the EQ in the loop is kind of like having a decent presence and resonance control for your amp without having to mod it.
For the Hellcat I use a good old black plate 12AT7 for the reverb and the amp sounds a bit better with it.

The clip above is just the crappy mic in a Sony Cybershot camera. Cranking it though with a 4x12 and mixing it with my SE+, that's a whole 'nother deal.

I never tried a 12AT7 with the HC reverb... Interesting. It's amazing how particular Cornford amplifiers are when comes to tubes types and make. I'm using a black plate 5751 in my RK100 PI. The difference is SO evident when compared to my grey plate 5751 tubes.

The clips are what they are. I've played Camerons and owned a Hellcat when I lived in Nashville and I stand by my preferences here. The Hellcat was just so touch sensitive and dynamic with the volume knob on your guitar. You better be on your game with that amp. The Camerons... not so much. It's all subjective.

This clip pretty much sucks in terms of being able to effectively hear the amp, but you can still get an idea of its gain structure. He's playing through an EL84 based Guytron GT20 amplifier. Even with the poor volume, you can hear how fluid this amp sounds. Bottom is tight, mids are vocal, top is smooth. You can augment the structure using the focus, slope, and attenuator controls.

I'm interested in hearing more from your Cameron amplifier. I'm always on the look-out for a great sounding EL84 amp. Out of the three amps I own, two are EL84.

i used to feel meh about 84s for anything outside of ac30s but the mojave coyote changed my mind.
big iron and meant to be more chewy meaty mid centered for great lead playing tones versus big bro peacemaker low and high dynamics.

if you feel the bass is light, turn up and hotplate if too loud, use a low wattage speaker or better yet 4 of them, as the bottom end from cab resonance is so much spongier that "bass" from a knob, and if you are fx minded a w/d rig will cure any lack of lows imo by dialing in the wet amp to compensate

Yep el84 are not bad tubes I tried a Mark V25 recently and was pleasantly surprised at the chunk 2 84's gave it ,It for sure was not Voxy

No chorus, just slight delay almost ducking.

The Coyote is a bad ass amp. Have one myself. One of my all time favorites. Nice clip mentoneman!

A little info if interested...
Unlike the GT100, the GT20 has no re-amping going on, but you can run the attenuated output as a padded output (via padded/phase select on rear of amp) into whatever type of power amp you want. I run mine into the effects return of my RK100 with 6L6's with excellent results. It also has a built-in Sennheiser mic with an XLR out for DAW or FOH inputs.

Assuming that's a boost pedal... I prefer the tone with the boost off. It doesn't have the gain complexity of Lester's Hellcat, but I don't think that's what Mark is shooting for either. The Hellcat is also a 30 watt/4 x EL84 amplifier. This Cameron 18 watt very much reminds me of the 2 x EL84 GT20, but doesn't have the Vox like sparkle in the clean tone.

I've hinted a few times to Steve H. that should do a two channel (2 x EL84) 20 watt Henning "Sparkler" amplifier. The name is perfect IMO, and it fits the theme... Question is, will he do it?

It's a great idea, I just have to finish this 50 watt before I think about the next amp. Damn suppliers... I've been waiting for my prototype chassis now since mid-Oct!

Oh the amp was cool. HAd the Partridge transformer in it. Dont recall the tubes. Got it on a trade. This was back when I was heavy flipping amps. Had I think 3 others at the same time I had this. I remember it WAS LOUD!!
