This is my C+/++ SG run dry into my creamback 412 you can easily hear how brutal the amp sounds straight in w/no fx.
Heavy as F!Nothing serious here except the ultra liquid smooth attack of the C+/++
It can get heavy with an external EQWhy Jeremy complains about the eq make zero sensei if you set it up to assault mode like I do. The GEQ is far superior to the non eq models and this clip shows how violent this amp can be but again no way is it possible to even approach this level of heavy without it, period.
That's not the point and it's well known an eq inserted into the loop isn't placed in the same point as the one on the amp, further they are far different as the onboard GEQ runs@high voltage. Take it for what it is, it's not remotely the same.
Agree with this 100%...and TJ is spot on..sure you can use a nice EQ pedal, or nice rack PEQ but it's still not the same. The faster attack is cool, but the only way you get a non GEQ to sound as good while hitting the same tonal spot is to have the tone stack changed to a more scooped response. That's what I'd try if I had a non GEQ C+..I'd send it to Mike B and have him 'de HONK' the circuit. LolI’ve tried many GEQ pedals (including the Mesa 5 band) in the loop and out front in my iic+ HRG and while they can sound good, none of them came close to sounding like using the actual GEQ of the amp
I also agree about the GEQ models sounding better. I loved the DR I had, but once I got the HRG and compared them, the DR got sent packing fast. I compared them with the HRG’s EQ bypassed to make it apples to apples and still much preferred the HRG. It was more open, raw and aggressive and even sang a little more on leads, while the DR was smoother and more compressed. The only thing I preferred about the DR was that it was just a little tighter and maybe faster responding, but overall much preferred the HRG
It killed when it left. I’m afraid of what’s coming back.As they say on forged in fire, it will kill
?????
They are killer speakers...my favorite GB by far until I scored a 72 with Pulsonics..and the 72 I just give a small edge to. They have more clarity and 'chewiness' if you will. That's my original marshall cab from '79 I call it the secret weapon. I bought that cab from some punk rock kid and it looked like it was dragged behind a semi trailer truck for $100 bucks and cleared it up and I swear it's pure gold man.
