"Why Jeremy complains about the eq make zero sensei if you set it up to assault mode like I do. The GEQ is far superior to the non eq models and this clip shows how violent this amp can be but again no way is it possible to even approach this level of heavy without it, period."
No extreme without an EQ of some sort in the loop. Built-in GEQ is at least twice as good as putting a GEQ in the loop on a Boogie Mark amp. The only people who disagree are pepole who own a non-GEQ Boogie amps, denial. But I"ve own both kinds of Boogie amps and I have compared the amps in person and it isn't hard to tell in the room which was superior, not that the other was unusable it's just that one sounded and felt better than the other.
I used to own a C+ SRG and it's the only amp or guitar I've regretted selling. I sold it to a friend so if it ever comes up for sale I will buy it back. I think the SRG is the one for my rash style as it rips a little more than the HRG just like 50 watt early Marshall amps, and especially the DRG which is liquidish in comparison.
There's no weakness in the GEQ models. It's all in the setup and as my friend MC says, "it's the sum of the parts." I have a guitar with a emg and I don't even like those but it can get even more nasty with an 81. This clip is just a jb. I have always preferred old jb pups. That 81 with a boosted front end is another step up in gain but this was only a clip of how the amp responds straight in to contrast the non eq argument.
That's my original marshall cab from '79 I call it the secret weapon. I bought that cab from some punk rock kid and it looked like it was dragged behind a semi trailer truck for $100 bucks and cleaned it up and I swear it's pure gold man.
I have a Marshall full stack from 1978, scored for a whopping 550$ on clist two years ago, those old cabs fucking smoke everything new, they have their own "depth" circuit

Vintage stuff rules; I don't care what amp/speaker/cab/guitar you wanna throw out there. I don't have the coin for a true vintage axe; my 84 Charvel I suppose is 'almost' vintage....but there's just no comparison to vintage amps/cabs etc. They all have something new stuff just can't approach.
