They are all within 3-5% of each other. Impossible to tell in a mix.
??? I don't know where you read here that anyone is TRASHING the JP2C. Most opinions just say they believe the originals sound better, not by a lot but better. Seems like you have a little butthurt when it comes to the vintage 2C+ owners/supporters.Wizard of Ozz":38j3blf4 said:Really good comparison. I would take the JP2C overall as its new, reliable, and more versatile. I also like the 16 Ohm out.
I did like the tone from the C++. Good work on the video.
The only guys trashing the JP2C (or most other variations of the Mark) compared to the JP2C are those C+ nuthuggers that don't want to lose the family fortune they got tied up in their C+ amps. With the JP2C on the market, I can't see any realistic reason to pay $2000+ or more for a used C+ with the issues that come with a 25 year old amp?
And if you don't play metal... I think your posting on the wrong forum. There's a country music forum down the way there...

Does it?

Even if the original sounds 10% better, it still sounds better. That's life.
JP2C is a cool amp, I might grab one or a Mk IV soon. Not trashing any other Mesa product, but there's a reason the original is iconic.
BTW, I have experienced some of the C+ nutthuggery myself, since mine is the dreaded upgraded vs original C+. Lol
You made the statement here, on THIS forum so stands to reason...I haven't read anywhere here that anyone is trashing the JP2C and then you throw in the "family fortune/C+ nuthuggers" comment. Seems like your butthurt is real. Maybe you wanted one and the price was too high? They do command a lot of cash. I feel for ya. I haven't gotten everything I wanted either.Wizard of Ozz":pf5ix1yj said:Racerxrated":pf5ix1yj said:??? I don't know where you read here that anyone is TRASHING the JP2C. Where did I say "here" as in anywhere on this forum or in this thread. Read. I made a general statement. If the shoe fits? I don't own any Mark amps... I have no dog in this hunt. Just an observation. Sounds like you might be a C+ nuthugger.

I don't think anyone on this thread or even on this forum has trashed the JP2C at all. It's an awesome amp. For what it's worth, I've gotten to AB my mark IIC+ HRG (my favroite amp) with the JP2C, and the JP2C sounded terrific and 90-95% as good as my IIC+, but like the others said the IIC+ was just a bit more raw, organic, 3D, and also more extended in the highs and lows. Of the amps being made today though, I think the JP2C is one of the very best out there for modern metal and versatility. Obviously, the JP2C wins for features and flexibility, but if you're a stickler about a raw, organic tone you may not be satisfied unless you have the original. Given that you have a 50 year old Marshall Plexi, I don't see why you would have an issue owning an amp that's about 20 years youngerWizard of Ozz":3afd0yhe said:Really good comparison. Maybe you too can find a 2C for 750, send it in for the upgrade and only have 1100 into it. Like me.

With that said, I have a boogie rack that absolutely crushes. I almost don't need my amp heads anymore.
