I'm curious to what you didn't like about the HBE. Did you like the BE better?

Tight as a frogs ass under water.

What speakers, guitar & pups?

Every time I listen to these clips, I cant wait to get home and try out my Marsha and my new Friedman being built!!! Awesome clips!

Sounds great. I'm realy liking HBE with Sat ATM. Thats the beauty of these amps, you can go from Classic to mean modern.

Man, I keep listening to this...I don't know you couldn't have liked it at first! It sounds mean as hell, perfect aggressive rock/metal voicing. Tight and chunky.

I don't know exactly. See, I have a few different cabs around the house. I never tried the Marsha with HBE mod on that particular cab. That or it could have been the original pickups I had in my guitars. Now I can't get enough of it. Sounds good to me now :D

Could also be the "music phase" I'm going through. I've been listening to a lot of older Helmet material lately and have always dug that heavy saturated tone Page Hamilton had. Especially on the Betty CD.

So who knows.

Betty, is just brutally good. Begs to be cranked in the car. He had attack but it's also thick and a little woolly too. I know he used VHT power amps for years but no idea what else. Your clips actually reminded me of early Deftones.

Sounded really good...heavier than I thought the Marsha would do without assistance. I haven't had mine for over a month now but its scheduled for delivery next Tuesday...the anticipation is killing me
