Marsha w/clean ch vs. PT-100

Hey Nico,
Having owned a Marsha (Rupe owes me for trading it to him during a personal crisis) and having played Seitz333's PT 100 I will say the Marsha's clean is not as clear.

I think originally Dave F. stated the Marsha is essentially a one channel amp. I think that's mostly true as it really isn't a channel switcher like the PT. You can get three very different tones on a PT so it's incredibly more flexable. HOWEVER, for "one smoking channel" the Marsha can't be beaten.

I HAD a PT100. Chris that works for John was great to work with.

Yeah I knew about the versatility issue. I ordered mine with a simple clean.

I already have an Ecstasy which I think is pretty flexible and has a good clean channel and the blue channel which is sex! Honestly I don't play so much with cleans so its not so much a big a deal for me. I wanted a high gain organic tone that stayed tight and was less compressed. I opted for the Marsha.
I couldn't resist the true Marshall tone of the Friedman. The PT-100 has its own sound going but I don't find it a true hot rodded Marshall sound, which is what I like! It still sounds great!

Agreed the PT is not a Marshall but the Marsha is an awesome hot rod Marshall tone.
You are going to love it for sure!
Congrats!

The Marsha smokes the 101B Blue/Red channels for modded Marshall tones. To me the 101B is too compressed and dark sounding.
Not the case with the mighty Marsha.

While I own a Friedman modded amp and not a Marsha I can tell you that Dave's work is second to none. I too have owned a Splawn, a JVM, and other high end amps and nothing comes close. If I could swing the $$ for a Marsha, I would have one, they are that good.

Mike

Funny you should mention Splawn, I took my Marsha and Naked amps to a ampfest :scared:
and one dude commented the amps reminded him of a Splawn
Yea, well some people think their Toyota Corolla with a chrome tip on the muffler is as fast as a Ferrari too. :D

oohhh! Now that was funny.

What does that tell you? All the amps are good, it really comes down to personal taste. If you like the way your amp sounds, that is all that matters.
