as if the dagnals are junk and a metro sucks. some just dont get it. If I was going to sell a hot rod plexi, thats what i'd do.. Sounds like a great foundation to me.

well I was parading around in the Daisy Dukes....(HE liked that)....
And I told him my plan about 'stashing' the comb. He threw a fit....
So I loosened the chain on his Motorcycle causing his crash so I can lift the comb.

Ok I will address this. The amp is not simply a Metro kit. Yes George supplies me with a chassis and head box and turret board. Everything else is hand selected and ordered parts. The transformers are different the tubes the filter caps the caps and resistors on the board etc etc etc. If I was to mod a metro I would have to replace all the filter caps the choke the output transformer all the parts on the board then we could get to the mod. To do all that it would cost about 1200 to 1300.00 that gets you to 3000.00 Don't forget changing the tubes to get to the Marsha spec. So there you have it. Dave

My 2 cents ... I own a Marsha, and compared to 2 Bogners (Anniv SHiva and XTC), H&K Triamp MK2, EVH3, Dual recto (from first 500), Newer dual rec, Newer Splawn Qrod it was by far the best most organic bad ass tone I have heard. The opinion was shared by everyone in the room. Clean and gain channels are incredible. I bought it that day and have used it ever since 2-3 shows a week and not once thought about the cost or the metro thing because it is that good. People forget that you are paying for Dave to tweak this amp, there are very few guys who have done what he has done with/for the amount of name and non name players alike and he should be paid for that skill and experience, whether it starts from some Metro supplied stuff or not. Tons of companies use Mojo as well, not sure why that matters. Also because the person buying the amp can select from all kinds of mods/options it would be pretty hard/cost prohibitive to have a standard Marsha chasis, faceplate and all that unless Dave picked the options he wanted to offer but then that defeats the purpose.

Whatever the internals...it still sounds great. The Metro head shell is a little ghetto though. May pop my chassis into a Marshall shell.

Which transformers are you using Dave? Also, the ARS (JJ/Tesla) tubes, are they available retail from ARS or only through dealers?

Rob, Is this true about the Marsha? I was even told it uses the cheapest Metro Dagnal copy transformers. I was told it was a Metro Plexi kit.

While I own a Friedman modded amp and not a Marsha I can tell you that Dave's work is second to none. I too have owned a Splawn, a JVM, and other high end amps and nothing comes close. If I could swing the $$ for a Marsha, I would have one, they are that good.
