I don’t think so honestly, I have multiple cabs with Marshall vintage speakers and Mesa v30s,
( 8 and 16 ohms) the Marshall cabs regardless of what’s in there, are just distinctly bigger sounding and beefier to me personally. But 16 ohm speakers for sure are more “smiley face” than 8 ohm speakers for sure, always.
Marshall cabs have a liveliness or chewiness or bounce to them (not sure how to describe it) compared to Mesa cabs, which are super stiff both in construction and sound. The Mesas seem to have more low end extension but they lack so much warmth that they sound overall "smaller" to me.
I guess it's the sum of all those factors, little things add up. I don't have a clear preference between Marshall and Mesa V30 cabs, really depends on the amp/song etc.

Is there any difference in the construction of Marshall 1960A and 1960B cabs vs the 1960AV and 1960BV?
Or is it just that one has V30's and the other has G12T75's?
