surprised to see this... sorry that they used the on hand DSL/JVM transformers on these. One of the main tone elements of the 2555 was the special wound interleaved transformers that were unique to that original amp.
Once again Marshall misses the boat on finally nailing a great new design and riding on past glories. Unfortunately the Jub's weren't all that great to begin with. I owned a few in the early 90's and as cool looking as they are I would rather use a good DSL.
Plus why would you re-issue an anniversary model? Kind of defeats the purpose of the anniversary.

I don't know man, I've had 3 jubes and with a couple boosts through V30s I like the tone better than any modded Marshall including Cameron's, Friedman, Fortin, Gower etc. If the new ones duplicate the tone of the original I'm all in.
As a big jubilee fan, curious about these new amps. Too bad they didn't add any extra volume for the clean mode, that is an essential mod in my book if you want to use it as a multichannel amp.
"So, by popular demand, we have created the 2555X, which is a modern re-issue of the 2555, with the same sonic characteristics and functionality."
By modern they mean modern build, so not a re-production of the original build.
But regarding the transformers, even (most) true reissues use the Malta made Dagnall's which are a different company than the original Dagnall that dissolved in the later 00's.
