When there where new??? Why would you buy a new amp....then have to replace the output??....like my friends have. I'm sure that they've fixed the problem..by now....but these amps don't sound better then the regular 1959......Then there is the other amp with the dual output transformer the..JTM45/100....Marshall will tell you you can run 1 cab with this amp....but that leaves 1 transformer with no load......but Marshall will tell you its...OK......its not!!....IMO the HW amps could have been a great amp but Marshall just...dropped the ball!
AND these days there are way better 1959 type amps to buy from better amp builders
I see allot of old Marshall's still working just fine after 30 years....so I don't get what you are saying about old transformers...my two old 72's are still just fine....and these things have been through allot.....my friend Sean plays one of them every weekend...never had a problem.
