I can also see how it's a little unflattering to be talking down another manufacturer. But since it's Marshall, it's OK? If he said that Peter Diezel's amps were crap, would it still be 'saving people heartache and hassle'?

Sounds like experience with 3 of them.....and no reasons explained what caused it to happen to them.

If he had worked on numerous Diezel amps throughout the years and ran into the same problem over and over again with them, sure, I see no reason why it'd be out of order to give his opinion on it.

And I'll say it...... if I was up to my neck in back orders on my own amp builds I wouldnt be wasting time arguing whether or not the Marshall HW's are a piece of crap. Thats just me though.

As just a tech with no horse in the race, maybe. As a mfgr though? Better to stay above the fray, IMO.

There where no reasons for it......almost right out of the box.
Should I have takin them apart just so I could explain in dramatic detail to YOU what happend....no Also these friends are pro players who know there gear.

They blew up for no reason? You would have had to take them apart to fix them right? You just replaced the OT's without seeing what took them out?

It's really cold and supposed to get colder tomorrow but no snow. I wish we would get a good amount so I can take my kids out sledding. We have some great hills near my house.

He gave his opinion based on having to replace some of them and stated he thought the mid 90's SLP RI's where much better, transformers included. As we all know, he's worked on an ass load of Marshalls. If he says one model is much better than another from the same manufacturer, is that slamming the manufacturer? I don't know, and I don't care. I think you're making a mountain out of a mole hill..

TGP kills the VM and has threads like "is a POS!!!!!!!!" and the mods allow it. Certain amp guts get posted and they are ripped down super quick

I used to own a 1959HW. I've also owned a mid 90's stock 1959 head and thought the HW sounded significantly better. No transformer issues at all. That being said, I also played two other 1959HWs and they did not sound that great compared to the one that I owned. I know no two amps sound the same, but the differences that I heard have always made me wonder about Marshall's consistency with these HW heads.
