Marshall JCM800 and Soldano SLO in one amp - Genius!

Fargen made a two-channel amp that has the Olde 800 on one channel, and a Soldano SLO on the other channel. How awesome is that?
That's basically the setup of Mick Mars, and used by lots of other folks in the studio.
I love my Olde 800 MkII, and think I would love this even more.
This amp can do cleans, to plexi crunch, to hot-rodded Marshall, to SLO hi-gain. WANT

I think his secret is the zoom g2 with expression pedal, they make any amp sound great.


Kidding, really sounds very good. Seems he got that clarity that the best SLO clips have (like running the clean channel 180o in phase with the od channel of sort). And he knows his marshall stuff.


The actuall two power sections two output transformers comment is it on spot? the SLO isn't a world apart from the marshall 800 power section isn't it?

True, but the same can be said about my RM100 but that gets close enough for me.

That amp does sound pretty good though.

I get your point. It's not a SLO to a "T".

But I wouldn't call it just another channel switcher.
The ability to switch from an Olde 800, which is a versatile, wonderful Marshally amp, to a SLO-esque high gain sound, is awesome. I've owned a few HR50+s, and have played several SLOs. They're great amps. If this thing gets that kinda sound, tweaked by Fargen, it's gotta be good.

Sounded good. Wish he could of played a few chords on the Slo side of it. Seemed like it was all lead notes to me.
At least the channel 2 was.

My comment was on the harsh side, but I've heard so much about the "Fender cleans, Marshall gain" hype that I wanted to make that point from the get-go. Fargen had a good reputation, I'm sure the amp will sound good

The plexi and 800 sound really good! I like the 800 tone much more than what I heard from the SLO side... would've been nice to hear some rhythm stuff with that voicing.

Shit dude, that clip sounded awesome and I bet that is a quiet amp in between notes.
