If any of the clone makers are going to be pinched by this, it's a little hard to feel sorry for them. I mean, what do you expect when you hitch onto somebody else's wagon so blatantly? I think if I see one more plexi headbox with joe blow's name in a scroll logo across the front, I'm gonna vomit blood.

Know what you mean but seriously there are guys and I went through this that I thought all hand wired boutique was the shit and was willing to pay. That said I no longer think like that but there quite a few who do.

Take the Klon pedal for example. IMHO that thing suck ass. The BB Pre Amp, Zvex and MI stuff blows it away. Now there are guys who mess themselves and pay over $600 for the those Klons. IMHO its just about perceived value and you brain tells you if it cost that much it must be good.

this is really OT:...but do any of you guys who went to NAMM and hung w/ mark cameron have any pics of him?, i was always wondering what he looked like...

he sounds real young on the phone

I also think that the Quickrod at $1850 may need to be updated so that all three gears are footswitchable and OD1 and OD2 will need to continue to be footswitchable at least and the price has to stay the same. The Marshall will be $1750 street price.

On the Splawn forum they said the next generation Quickrod being developed is going to be midi enabled, so maybe he saw the writing on the wall.....

I look foward to adding a JVM to my amp arsenal at some point regardless :D

I have a shitload of pictures. I just need to get them off of the camera and into the PC. FWIW.. Mark is young and he is one talented Mo fo!!

Here's something that just popped into my head. I have been a Marshall guy my entire life. Unfortunately, I felt that Marshall died about 20 years ago. At least they did in my eyes. This is a rebirth, a resurrection, whatever! :)

To me it would be exactly like, out of the blue Mike Tyson coming back from where he is today and just reappearing as the 25 year old Mike Tyson. With his head on straight and focused on boxing and in the best shape of his entire life. There are alot of guys making a great living as heavyweight boxers today. Every single one of them would be shaking from head to toe at the prospect of getting in the ring with that Mike Tyson.

Another thing, someone who is good friends with Doug Aldrich said that Doug heard the new JVM at Marshall back in England and he told them that he is getting one as soon as they are available.

George Foreman would be a good example
Mahammad Ali would be another...

I think the reason his amps are so liked is because he is an insane player and plays in the same style as many ripping players. He knows how he wants an amp to feel for his style and he knows the tones that killed in the 80s so that is what he used for his ideas.

I agree totally and posted a very similar comment a couple pages ago. I don't own any Marshall head after the JCM 800's and I have 7 Marshall heads. This seems like a return to form and I am ready for it. I will probably snag a 2203KK at some point as well. Call me a fanboy, but I think it's more like toneboy!

I'm a bit of a "fan boy" myself, and I'm hoping this JVM is the shit. I'm going to wait a few months and get one used but I am wanting one. That said, I still want a Cameron, and I'm not going to sell any of my Current 7 Marshalls 4 Boogies, Splawn or XTC. When I get one, I'm hoping to add it to the pack on it's own merits, and keep the rest on theirs. I don't understand the vitriol over this... :?

HEY! That's MY amp! At least give me credit. Do you know how long that took me to make in MSPaint?!?!!??

Steve how long can you wait to add on orders to the original 10. I'm kinda interested in this...nothing definite though. BTW/ Kage can vouch for me...I bought his old 5150 II awhile back. I just don't post much on any boards anymore...more of a lurker now.

That's funny! Good work! :D

James isn't making Marshall clones...I like the amp he built for me better than any Marshall I've played actually.
Picture a Hiwatt, Marshall and a Vox AC30 having a baby. 8)

OK, Here's the deal.....
I just got back from my meeting with the sales rep. Everything is good, except I hit one bump in the road which is easily fixed. That bump is NYS Sales Tax.
I am going to need everyone to send me either money orders, or use paypal. Obviously with Paypal, they charge 3.5%, so I suggest either postal MO's or similar. I also suggest sending it to me via Priority mail so I get it in 2 days.
The reason for this is....
I live in NY and I am purchasing these 10 amps from NY. So they have to charge sales tax on any purchases that are within the state. There is simply no way to avoid it other than me getting MO's or Paypal and bringing in cash for the order.
Anyone that was planning on using their CC's to do this can simply go to your local post office and purchase the MO's with a CC.
Everyone should write all my information on the MO's and write Marshall JVM Amp in the memo slot
Once I get the MO's I will deposit them into my bank account and withdraw the cash to pay for them.
I will make copies of everything and keep everything on file and email receipts for payment to everyone as soon as I receive it. Obviously, if you use Paypal, you will have your receipt from them.
Please EMAIL me ASAP to get this done.
Thanks everyone..

If you get a MO at the Post Office with your credit card, isn't that just getting a cash advance onto your credit card? Credit Card companies slam you on interest that way.

The post office will not let you buy a money order with a credit card. You can use a debit card though.
