Assume they're similarly priced and of similar quality (assume JVM 210), which do you choose and why? Either would be used for gainier applications and general lead wankery

thanks

between the two I'd probably go Marshall as i prefer the tone, but something like the JVM410 , the 210 is good but doesn't have for example the OD1 from the JVM410 which is killer, you can get it modded tho if needed

i will say the sig X is a great amp, had an older version which was excellent but a bit too dry/tight sounding for my liking

If you are going to go with the JVM410, I would strongly consider the JVM410JS.

I much prefer the Sig X. Not sure what it is about the JVM but I find it very dull and flat sounding. The Sig (and all the Fryette stuff I've played) is very inspiring and unique, while the JVM seems like they tried to cram a bunch of sounds in an amp but with no real quality. I like the marshall models in my pod hd better than the JVM. :scared: Don't hurt me.

The Sig X is a amp I use a lot ..... it is my favorite multi-channel amp. I have several others ... but it is by far the one I use most. Build quality, definition, articulation, dynamics, feel & tone is all better for me. All channel's regardless of how much gain is being used can clean up great with the guitar volume. The controls on each channel allows you to really shape the sound. A ll three channels can do clean on up to crunch. The CLEAN channel driven into overdrive is one of my favorite crunch sounds from any amp. Both RHYTHM & LEAD can do clean thru high-gain.

The JVM is alright .... But personally I much prefer the JCM800 single channel & older Marshall's. I like several of the newer Marshall's .... But the old single channel amps are much much more to my taste.

what he said, I like the JVM but to me the Fryette is in it's own league, especially for dynamics.

Sig X, no contest. I dig Fryette's work...that amp has dynamics galore.

Although the JVM sounds nice, I prefer the Sig X...like Ventura said...more dynamics and in my opinion a better build.

I initially loved the SigX and also loved the Mark V. However, after trying the JVM....it destroyed the others. The JVM is just thicker, juicier, creamier and smoother. I even thought the Marshall DSL and a JCM 900 4100 was better than the Siggy. My opinion....
