Played one, before you kick in the Kerry King button it sounded really good, I mean a Kt-88 equipped 800 is a good idea, as soon as you hit that switch, the amp sounded like ass IMO. The built in gate is not bad, but you get the terrible Slayer boosted mids bullshit that just makes the amp sound terrible.

Also, the lack of an effects loop was a downer for me.

1400 bucks ain't bad though, so it's really up to you.

Love that amp. The Beast function isn't necessary if you don't like what it does. Slap an OD pedal in front of it instead and you're golden.

I say if it sounds good use it. I really dont like the whole tribal look thing but if it soudned good Id play it.

wonder what a skilled amp guru could do with it?
Maybe build a good sounding amp instead.

Buzzzing :D I the online vids I've seen... I thought that amp sounded fantastic!

nice amp, bit of a one trick pony tho.

i find its almost on the threshold of kerry king ism with the gain at 6 and the beast control at about 6,
after that point there is very little you can do to not sound slayer ish.

if you are running an emg 81 into it, expect classic slayer tones... not much else...

come to think of it i think i used similar settings to kerry..(not intention its just thats where they landed)
i think anyway, i'll have to dig thru my guitar mag collection i have a few good pictures of his settings somewhere...

anyway i liked it best when i was feeding the beast with a duncan custom... that was tastey... i think i might have notched one of the knobs up to 7 might have been gain kuz it added a little bit of girth

i would definatly pick one up... provided i was going with a multi amp rig...
or you don't need much versatility in your main tone...

first mod i would do tho if i had any sense.
make the beast footswtichable with avariable volume boost before the power amp to make up for the lack of amplification due to the lack of boost

also i would have footswitchable input sensitivitys...

but thats just me and i think to much... and it normally leads to pain...

Anyway, if your not flailing and actually playing the amp, get creative, the key to the ass load of sustain the thign can put out, is the gate, clean up your playing style lower the gate and just enjoy...

don't flame me for mentioning something slayer ish and sustain in the same referance...

I thought it sounded cool in the vids last year before it came out. A couple of guys -I think Danyeo and our good friend Carl :D thought it sounded like ass.
I played one a few months back. Did not like it at all. A one trick pony and not a very good trick at that...Definitely try before you buy....
