Yeah...thats really how simple it is but NOOOOOO We gotta have mods done, wait 3-4-6 months till there finished never knowing what the fuck we're getting when it does come back but...We've waited too fucking long and regardless of what it sounds like we think it's the second coming and blast it all over the internet via youtube which makes everything sound the same mostly so....We get the oooh's and ahhh's from our peers well..except Dave and then 2-3 weeks later..it's in the classifieds because we had a tragic dog lost it's fucking collar incident and need the money to replace it when the real truth is..the thing sounds and feels like shit but being as youtube video's can sometimes make things sound great..someone buys it only to think..WHAT THE FUCK!!? Then the cycle repeats itself over and over again and....I'm ok with that :D

i laugh at these posts sometimes because some people hear a stock boosted with the good OD pedal and it happens to sound like a ton of gain, everyone assumes its modded. you can get this sound even without a modded pedal or peamp folks on a stock Marshall. Especially with a Les Paul and the right pickups.

I've never heard a stock Marshall that was pleasing across the board. My least favorite pedal is a distortion pedal and I don't own any. It is not the amount of gain that is the grail, it is how the amp does everything else with a set amount of gain. It is that compressed, uncontrollable gain with people and their pedals that makes me want to laugh and roar.

Heres my stock 2203 JMP w/a boost.

The other video has more clarity and gain/ saturation and a non-pushed with a pedal sound. I am not a fan of Master Volume or JCM800's and I liked that first clip.
Picky, picky... :D i liked that first klip too, its got a total 80's vibe.........................................

This is about as RAW as i get.

Not trying to be picky. I just don't like the Master Volume sound. I've owned many Masters and JCM800's and sold them all. I always wanted to like them...but never could get into them. I do like other people playing them though ;)
I couldn't bear the thought of you playing a MV amp, PM me for instructions on where to send your CCV and other dirty rotten MV amps.

Srsly i've seen you play MV amps in your clips, didnt you buy a CCV? What gives?

i remember the pedal was modified off of some ebay user kit? whats even more funny is that there isnt a single word mentioned about a modified pedal, all of these poor new marshall guys getting their hopes up thinking a JMP sounds like that with a boost

in the description of the video, I said it was a modded pedal :)

What's the pedal?

Nah. Both are working properly. I just hate the mush tone they give. I prefer the MXR micro amps over the D+.

Actually..I do too.. :D

It's a modded TS. I think the mod is the same one I got off of ebay years ago from Tube Screamer Heaven. I've got the instructions and a parts list on disk but I can't figure out how to post the PDF file here. Anyone know how and wants it let me know. I can also email it to you if you PM me your address.

You've never heard a stock Marshall thats pleasing? wow...cant say I feel the same. especially when i listening to bands in the 70's that turned them up and played without all that sludge people play now.

Don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but I would say 99.33333333% of all the greatest Marshall sounds ever recorded didn't have or need any mods.

That is one badass sounding amp. I gotta tell you though, I've been thinking of getting my 800 modded, but I gigged with it this last weekend. Stock with a maxon OD-9 sounded pretty damn good in the mix. The soundman had my guitar stomping. It sounds good in the mix and you kinda hate to mess with it.
