I got a notification from YouTube the other day for this video…someone in comments speculated one of the amps was a JVM and the OP chimed in, not a JVM.
1 is a bit cleaner. Good as a do it all, hit with a pedal for more.
2 has more hairy gain and a bit brighter. Better for the chugs. Someone said "brashness" and I agree.
I liked #1 slightly more than #2, but didn't think the tones were that dissimilar between the two.
Kind of feel like it's a bit of trick question and want to say both #1 and #2 are a JMP (2203/2204) just dialed in slightly different.

Amp 1 = 1984 Marshall 4010 with mid cap clipped, original 6550s. Boosted with a Suhr Koko
Amp 2 = 1979 Marshall 2203 Cameron Aldrich. Straight in
Both through suhr RL, Ownhammer GNR Cab with greenbacks
I agree with a lot of people assessments. 800 is just classic and always works. Aldrich is more modern and hairy. Incredible feel and bounce. More aggressive. Can be ridiculously huge sounding in the room, but I dialed the low end back to suit the riff.
To normal people, they are very similar. To amp freaks, they are each their own thing and one does not replace the other. They inspire different playing styles.
