Matamp FX loop volume issue

Hey,

I’ve recently purchased a Matamp GT1 brand new, it has an “effects loop” in the front although I think it’s not officially a clean loop, more of an echo loop like vintage Oranges had in the 70’s? Not sure on the strict definition.

It’s worked fine with my reverb pedal for a week but it’s now having issues. When the pedal is in the loop the amp is MUCH quieter. Remove the cables from the loop and the volume returns.

I’ve tried the cables and reverb in my Marshall’s loop and they work fine with no volume drop so it must be the Matamp.

I’ve reached out to them but wanted to see if anyone here had heard of an issue like this?

Thanks

Is the effects loop tube driven ? if it is ..... could be the tube .

did you try just a straight patch cable from send to return to see if it did the same thing ?

another one is ... did you try cleaning the jacks ?

Bridging the send and return with a patch lead works fine.

The odd thing is the other cables and reverb pedal work with my Marshall’s loop (and worked with the Matamp up until yesterday)

I’ll try cleaning the jacks out.

They use the old orange echo style loop. It’s for something with a really hot signal like the old echo units. Pretty much useless with pedals.
