Mayones customs

Any of you guys order a mayones custom? I put a deposit on one at the first of the year due to be shipped in December. I got the Black Jeans finish but now I kinda just want a trans black. How much of a hassle do you think it would be to change it with it being over 6 months away? If it would be an issue it wouldn't break my heart. Just curious if it can be done

I ordered one about 7 or 8 years ago and it went smooth, incredible guitars. I miss mine so much, every now and then I scour the message boards trying to find it, I'd buy it back in a heartbeat.

Anyway, did you go direct or through a dealer? I think it just depends on where it is in the build process. Skervesen (ex-Mayones dudes) has let me change while in progress before without issue. But they don't like it because it's easy for them to screw up and then they have an unhappy customer.

I ordered it from Zjon's Guitar Shop. I think Im going to stick with the black jeans though. I kept waffling back and forth between two finishes so I just need to stick with it. Im excited though. This is my first high end guitar. I put an Evertune on it which it seems like not many people do on these guitars. I've got to where I love having an evertune so I hope everything turns out ok. I think I might try Balaguer next. I would love a Suhr Modern but they are always way out of my price range.

I think I might try Balaguer next. I would love a Suhr Modern but they are always way out of my price range.

Suhr Moderns are significantly cheaper than Mayones in my experience. Both great guitars

'I was able to get a Mayones for about 2500. I need to revisit Suhr shopping once my finances recover. The couple Suhr modern that I've played locally were almost 4k. If Im being honest my usual comfort zone is $700-1200 so this is not something I could make a habit of. I would just like to have something nice for once.

Fair enough. I only buy used was able to get a basically new modern for 2k. My regius was more like 2.3k. Setius are cheaper through
