I think they are!! I have one (A5) in my Carvin Bolt+ with a 2nd Degree BB in the neck and I have a Angel Dust A2 coming for my old Kramer Baretta II. Also looking at the Nasty Nasty for my Charvel (replace the Aldrich) or I will just go with the Angel Dust A5.

Does your LP have 500k volume pots?

What affect will the volume pots have on tone?

The higher the pot's value, the brighter the tone.

500k is brighter than 300, for example.

So maybe the answer would be -

Remove the Burstbucker Pro (bridge)
Remove stock 300k volume pot

Add MCP 2nd Degree Blackbelt
Add 500k volume pot

Would this result in getting rid of the mud when gain is added (due to the new pup) and adding some treble (new pot)?

500k pot would give you more top-end, that's for sure. Never played a black belt, so I can't comment on how it sounds/feels.

Man...guys I just don't get wade sometimes... So there are at least three new pickup models but almost no one knows of them because wades website is so crappy and NEVER gets updated .

I can say he's already missed out on sales from me as his hell baby is my favorite pickup of all time. I would have tried all three new ones if not more by now had I even known they existed.

The hell baby pickup still comes up to buy even though he discontinued them at least two years ago?!

HEY WADE, UPDATE THAT WEBSITE AND KEEP IT UPDATED, IT'S COSTING YOU BUSINESS! AT THE VERY LEAST MINE!

Now someone tell us about the Garuda, nasty nasty, hotheads, tweak head, black iron etc...
Silly names are cool but how the hell could I pick from those names vs. specs...

Love Wades pickups, hate his website. I'm a huge 2ndDBB fan. I have an Angel Dust, it's cool, but I prefer the 2ndDBB. I am curious about the Detroiter and the ever so mysterious Nasty Nastys.

I have a set of Woodwards too. Great pickups. I had a set of fender custom shop 54s which they replaced. The Woodwards are very similar, but clean up a bit better and a touch cleaner sounding.

BTW, looking to trade that Angel Dust for a 2ndDBB, Detroiter, or possibly a Nasty Nasty. :)

Had a chance to hear a prototype of the Nasty several months ago before the final tweaks were done. Jerry had it in one of his HB equipped strats. I contacted Wade to obtain further info which he said would be available soon. Guess soon is not here. From what I remember this is a higher output pickup ( I believe Wade told me through email it was in the 12-13k range, but check with him on that) than the 2nd BB. It seemed to have a bit of a early VH vibe to it going on though I would not say it nailed that tone just some qualities of it with higher output. Communication is key in this world.

The Nasty is around 9.6/8ish and sounds just like the name natsy, loves gain but sounds great rolled back also

It is available and it is listed on his website. Sounds like a great pickup!!!! I might have to pick a bridge version up soon.

Thanks man! I Love honesty no matter how bitter it can be. I know its been a long time coming. I actually had planned to get this done a few months ago but I've had some health issues that needed immediate attention without delay. Back on track and moving better than ever- Your absolutely right that it should have been done awhile ago ;)
I have devoted quite a bit of time to this new site and some new things- Everything takes time. Bare with me, I won't do ya wrong! I'm also spending a bit more time here at rig-talk also, which I have been meaning too simply because there are so many MCP users and inquiry's its definitely a force that needs attention too.

Peace, Wade

P.S- My vote, for the DETROITERS! LOL, most of you guys already new that too!!

I have tried the Blackbelt and the Blisterbucker in my Les Paul. Once i got to the Detroiter set, that was it! They remain in that guitar. ;)

detroiters are my favorite that i have for my les paul

over

2nd BB
afway
war cry.

Awesome man, I posted this here because I knew you would see it and respond. I'd call my "tone" far more frustrated than bitter though lol.

Hope your health is doing well that IS an excuse to let the site go wayside.

Anyway can't wait to see the new site and read some descriptions.

Do you have anything similar to the hell baby these days?

i should add:
The black belt was a little too mid scooped and lacked just a touch of gain i was looking for the. (great sounding PAF pickup)

The Blister Bucker had more than enough gain ( maybe too much for this guitar and my needs) Also was a little too mid focused and soft around the edges. (i believe it has an A2 magnet in it)

The Detroiter had just enough mid, not too much and not too scooped. Not as much gain as the BlisterB but more than stock Paf which again suits my needs and this guitar perfectly.

They all have a nice open sound to them just depends on what your needs are in a pickup.

Mark, did you try the 2nd degree blackbelts?

If i remember, I think that the guitarist for Overkill used a Detroiter in his guitar on their new album Electric Age. The Fortin amp didnt sound too bad either.
