waiting for the delivery of PCBs for a new project, I could spend some time to do PTP again, now a triple-eqed white chassis. Code name is "Triple Trouble" - lol.

Three channels, loop, 100 Watt, 6ECCs. No midi this time (not enough place/room/space (what would be correct here?) inside.

Transformers are german custom made . . . there aren't any more parallels than the white color of the chassis to other companies or manufacturers btw. Just "my crap" inside.

Will post updates as soon as I have something "to tell" and bore you to death :D

Nice weekend RT.

Olaf

Olaf, you continue to blow me away... :)
I wish I had the brains to do this stuff.

Very neat!

One question though: why not use a toroidal transformer for the power section? They're much lighter and objectively better.

Thanks for the kind words, my friends.

I will explain the transformer thing tomorrow, Elethan.

Looks great! what's gonna sound like? what are you shooting after? :)

My normal stuff, Joey.
Clean, Crunch and 5 Gainstages for the rest :D

awesome,

let us hear some of the finest Lizzy tunes when you demo it, love those tunes :)

Looks interesting! Clean job too. I used to tinker a bit with electronics as a teen and I wish I could play around a bit with preamps and learn to make one myself. I'm just concerned about the up-front costs for tools and components, not to mention the time that goes into finding them.

A long, long time ago on the internet, before fora like these, I found a site with home amp builders. There was one guy who had made a Marshall/Mesa hybrid that sounded pretty cool. The amp had the punch of a Rectifier with the crunch and growl of a hot-rodded Marshall. It would be amazing to be able to do that, to combine all the sounds and ideas of amps you like into the unique sound you have in your head.

Thanks again for the too kind words, gents.
It is not finished, once I've added my cable spaghetti into it (three eqs means a lot - I mean - a fucking lot of wires) it won't look that clean. Thats why I prefer PCB for multi channel amps (ch>2) now, looks much cleaner, much faster to build - the only problem: you need to know which layout works and how to design it :D

Merci.

Have you worked previously, with Ribbon cable for the EQ section wiring?

I once had the idea, but when I saw their specs . . .

It is ok, just doesn't look as neat then. And I will keep this one, so I don't really care too much about the looks afterwards, more about how the resulting sounds, you know.

In seriousnesss, good stuff. I wish I had the ability to do builds. I'd probably put a capacitor in upside down or something

Room or space would work fine.

Is the loop the same one that's in my 2204 at the moment? I need to get that amp back up and running sometime. Great work as always, Olaf. I'll be patiently waiting for one to magically arrive on my doorstep for "testing." :D

Thank you for the right wording, much appreciated Tom (or Tim? excuse please, I'm getting older . . )

Yup, still the same loop. On your 2204 you should replace the 470R to ground (on send) to at least 2k2. Should be better with a 2204.

Thanks for the heads up. :) Also, your first instinct (Tom) was correct. ;)
