This album is amazing! Hadn't listened to it in years, and popped it in while doing some stuff, holy crap. Love the guitar, and of course the vocals are amazing.

I loved Melissa, but this one just rips.🤘

How do you all feel about this album? Band?

Great album but I love Melissa even more.

Great interview from the Bardo Methodology zine with Michael Denner :

Thanks.

I love them both...just wanted to go with this one.

Was going to combo a thread about MF and King Diamond, but decided to let the thread do its own thing.

Kind of went on an early Metallica influence ride today. Started off with Venom. Then I finished with this.

I prefer DBTO. But it was my first MF album (back in the 80’s). Didn’t get Melissa ‘til much later. Great stuff but DBTO to me is a stronger album from beginning to end. Real shame they couldn’t keep it together through the 80’s because as much as Laroque is worshipped, I much prefer Fate to KD solo.

DBTO was one of those classic cases of not knowing the band but buying it because the album cover was so cool..and there was no way that cover was a band that didn’t rock (15 year old fingers crossed) 🤞🤘

Same.

Except I'm a bit younger than you. I started early and young.

MF are metal royalty, and Melissa and DBTO are both 10/10. I first heard DBTO in 84 as an 8th grader and it scared tf out of me. It said everything forward that other bands were being accused of saying backward. 😂
Denner and Sherman are one of the GOAT duos, Hansen and Ruzz were a monster rhythm section, and King is the King. 🤘🏻

My playlist this morning.

I agree and also prefer MF, but KD’s first four albums were all killers as well. Kind had a hell of a run.

I forget the album name, but the one with Egypt and The Belle Witch on it is a phenomenal album.
In The Shadows - Killer album, and one of my favorites. This one's a banger..

I love MF & KD equally for their own individuality.

I listened to both from the beginning, but MF only got stronger from In The Shadows to 9. Can't say the same for KD. They were kind of up and down after The Eye. Some good, some lame.

You’re right, my bad. I was thinking of The Bell Witch EP
