Problem solved!

Was interference that went away completely when I moved amp to another room.

Hoping someone here can help with a question I have:

My relatively new Badlander 50 watt head is making a weird noise when I am not playing, or even when NO instrument cable is plugged into the amp. Happens on both channels BUT not in clean mode, only Crunch and Crush modes. I tried a new tube in V1 and V3 and did not fix issues. All tubes pass the tap test.

The amp sounds GLORIOUS, and I have no signs of any issues, loud as a MOFO, sounds fantastic when playing it.

SO: I am wondering if this is just cooling fan BEARING noise, or something inherant with these amps, OR is this something I need to get checked out WHILE I STILL HAVE WARRANTY?????

Thanks

Some amps sound that way on the dirty channels, my EVH is worse.

I talked to Mesa and they suggested I try it in a different area.

Thankfully when I moved it to another room, the noise completely went away.

Very happy!!!

I will vouch for this. For some reason the power in the room in our basement where I keep my amps is notoriously 'noisy' - lots of idle noise when the HVAC cycles on and off. Plug the same amp in out in the main room in the basement where the TV is and its dead quiet. I'm betting an electrician could probably diagnose what is going on. But it is a relief when you can determine that its not the amp!!!

I think it is my wifi router.

Not huge issue at moment.

Just very happy the amp is healthy.
