Fuck... First time trying this amazing amp... It sounds monstrous when paired with the Aphex aural exciter Dbx 166 xl
Yeah dude. If I'm not mistaken the dual caliber sounds more like a recto while the studio 22 amd caliber were introduced as a cheap version of the mark family! Is this the same as the 90s DC5?
Played a DC5 combo in a cover band back then and it nailed Dirt tones.
Was always getting asked to turn down though. Fucking LOUD!
Well if you watch the whole video you will hear for yourself! I think the amp sounds close to the mark amps but it lacks maybe some of the gain and punchhow are you running the exciter and DBX in this signal chain? in other words - how much of this sickness is coming from the amp versus the rack gear?
That would be my mark iv! You can check my channel lots of mark series clipsOld Boogies are certainly impressive. What's the one on top?
I watched the video in your original post several times. I see you posted a second clip further down. Sounds like the rack gear is sweetening it up quite a bit.Well if you watch the whole video you will hear for yourself! Ditto! His old tone was much better!I had one and it was a great little amp. It has a Mark kinda sound to it, but still has it's own voice. Corrosion Of Conformity used those amps to record most of their albums, and they used em live too. Pepper used to run through a couple .50 caliber + heads when they toured, now he uses Orange and their tone just ain't the same anymore. .
I should check my eyes then because it didn't look like one to me when I saw the video, and I've owned 4 of them .That would be my mark iv! You can check my channel lots of mark series clips

Get it now! One of the best boogie amps ever! It does the old tallica thing in spades! So I found one of these and bought it after seeing this thread the other day.
Such a fun lil amp!
I set it up warm and brink of crunchy on the clean channel, which makes the lead channel good for middy leads, and also good for heavy rhythm tones with the eq engaged. Nirvana, AIC, COC, Metallica all doable.
It's so much fun that I'm eyeing a red stripe MkIII 60 watt.
I wonder how they differ.
