I prefer the Friedman, but the Mesa does have a great clean channel.

In this clip I prefer the JP2C. I love Mesa and the JP-2C is amazing and I almost got one because of this clip until I played the BS. It's just on another level. I think the JP mainly shines in this clip because they are being played through V30s, after a lot of experience with the Slax and a Mesa cab pairing I've realized it really shines through a different cab. Would like to get a JP in the future though, such a pleasant amp.

My Butterslax gets here in a few days, when it does i'll post some clips of both. I LOVE my JP2C and i feel that clip didn't do it justice at all.

-I've played both, the -MESA JP2C- kicked my ass trying to dial it in, and I'm a former MK IV owner, finally I hear a voice from above!!... with the clarity of a bell!! And the voice said!!!.... "use the initial set up chart on top of the amp!!!.. Your driving my customers out of the store ya fuck, ya!!". -

-dialed in the -SHRED MODE- -(thou I don't shred)- sounded pretty dam good!! and it was through a single MESA 1x12!!!-
-the BUTTAH-(I had a JJ at the time, was more than happy with it, but the CELESTION 15" FULLBACK had my interest since before its release,... drove to South Boston to try out the -(MONSTER-2x12-2x15-FULLBACK CAB)- and of course the -BUTTAH- was sitting on top of it, straight to ch-3,.. turned it up.... MASSIVE!,.. SATURATION!!,.. ARTICULATE!!!,.. COMPRESSED!!!!,... -(some say that like its a bad thing,.. its not a German,.. hi-gain,.. Digital compression,... it went from MARSHALL to MODERN GAIN EASILY)- gain @ 10, volume 4/5-ish, played Diminished then full & open minor chords, you could pick every single note out of every chord,

The 412/15 is one of the best cabs ever. Nothing sounds like it, very awesome and unique. Also it's a mammoth. It dwarfs my other 4x12's. But yes, butterslax sounds even more amazing through it. They are made for each other!!! I got both at the same time about a year ago, cool to see others are finally getting to try it

The mic is right on the voice coil... 1/10
Mesa is more compressed. 'Kinda over the graphic EQ thing. It makes the highs grainy. Friedman seems more open but a recording smashes any dynamics anyway. The real test is how it feels to you in the room.
