first they have to have 6 revisions, each designated with a different color.

I have RFT's in the power section now but have not measured the bias yet. The messed up thing is that you have to take it out of the chassis to use the bias rite in it, which totally bites. I bet you anything it's biased cold. I'll probably do that this weekend. The amp isnt terrible but it just sucks that I have to work this hard to get it sounding right. You don't want an amp you "can live with" you want an amp that you want to play, all the time! I'm probably going to sell it.

Weber used to make these right angle sockets so you could bias without pull the chassis. If you are going to keep the amp, you might check to see if they still have them.

The channel one is a lot bright and compressed.
The channel 2 is great and worth the money. Only with this channel you have a bigger range of tones than a JCM800 for the same price and with a very good Loop FX. IMHO.
I just sold it because I got a PT-100, if don't, I would be very satisfied with 80's Hard Rock stuff it provides.
rabies":29z4nn2s said:it actually has way more features than a JCM800 and better build quality/components than newer Marshalls. Doesn't really have that Marshall crunch but fluid drive mode is great and cleans are good for EL34 amp (not as good as Mark V with EL34s however).
you have to spend some time with it. it's not really a metal amp but gets in that space, and it's good for blues and rock IMHO. cuts thru great (better than any other amp?) doesn't sound optimal as a standalone practice amp IMO. major complaint is that it doesn't have enough balls/bass even with new JJ E34L's. it's really a lead amp IMHO.

Their whole advertising campaign for the Stiletto was all about "that classic British EL34 sound" What do you suppose they were referring too?
What they said"that classic British EL34 sound" .... I named a few of the amps known for that sound above. There are several others vintage and modern. Marshall is only one example of that kind of sound. Hiwatt and Orange do not sound like Marshall's either. You know what they say about assume ...rabies":3kx2edt3 said:BrokenFusion":3kx2edt3 said:stephen sawall":3kx2edt3 said:Mesa never suggested the Stiletto sounds like Marshall .... let alone the JCM800....
