I couldn't take it any longer, i had to get another multi watt reborn dual rectifier, i owned one 10 months ago and was forced to sell it:cry: to pay off a guitar i had on order and i really missed it.

I like it better than the other rectos i have owned:love:, i think the new rectos will make a lot of fans, some people can hear the difference and some can't, i personally can hear it and i think its a improved tone, now I'm not saying its night and day different but it does sound improved to my ears.

The cleans are much better imo and i believe are based on the lone star, the gain channels are a little tighter and focused in the lowend, the gain sounds clearer and is less buzzy, the 50/100w switch on each channel is a nice feature and the ability to assign diode/tube rectifier will make some people happy, i don't use the loop but i have seen a few people say its been improved too.
i like the 3x3 footswitch a lot better too.

I wanna say if your not a fan of the rectos i doubt you will like it, but if you are a fan i think you should check them out. i didn't like the older 3 ch models and always liked the roadster the best, but after playing the reborn i came to the conclusion i like the reborn better and i feel its more aggressive and not as smooth or dark as the roadster.

I like using ch2 in vintage mode and ch3 in modern, i always use a boost and mostly my emgs equipped guitars, i love how that sounds thru my uberkab, and i recently picked up a recto cab and it sounds pretty damn good too. I'm also using el34 in my amp right now and like them alot .

Congrats man! Rectos are great amps. I could only hear a very slight difference between the old/new 3 channels, but either way, nice score! And the Reborn has the better loop from what I hear so that is a huge edge over the older ones. Can't wait to get my ultra modded Roadster (someday).

Congrats on the re-acquire. I still miss having my Reborn Recto :| Fun amps for sure. Not going to get lost in the mix anytime soon.

yea its a slight difference but was something that make me go from liking these amps to loving them, like i said earlier in the thread, its not night and day but its improved to my ears.

My dad just bought a new Triple, and it sounds great! It is tighter, and a little smoother than my early three channel triple. I like it a lot, and it have a bit more mids than my triple. I like it a lot!

Looks great Tom! I have always loved your rig room pics.

here's a nice A/B comparison between the old and the reborn

Wow I guess I have not been gassing, I have no idea what a reborn recto is!

What were the changes?

What were the changes?
Improved fx loop (some say series, but Mike at Boogie told me it's just an improved and buffered parallel design)
Multi-watt settings for each channel (50/100W)
Assignable rectifier for each channel
Improved footswitch w Tuner Mute
Tuner out
(very) slight revoicing
Better clean? (sounded about the same to me)
New Jute grill as standard option

Re-acquiring the actual amp or one like it is the coolest thing about moving gear. It was meant to be!

Steve

Thanks, that does seem to be a cool direction forward for them.

Hmmmm.... ahhhhhh.... oooooohhhh...

The 2010 Rectumfier "Forlorn"

Congrats!!!

I just love Mesa rectifiers...

The custom built dual rectifier I got from an artisit realtions guy that works at mesa is just mental... I will never sell it!

If you get a chance, you should throw some KT-77's in that baby!

I saw you posted about that amp, does it sound different than you others??

i know how much you love rectos and i remember you didn't really care for the reborn 2010, i didn't wanna sell the last one i owned but i had just bought a herbert and i also had a esp greenburst kh2 that was coming in and i figured i should sell one of my amps because they are easy to replace, i wanna try the kt77 also.

yea, definitely, i bought the other recto from you and i loved it but i needed cash and i also knew it wouldn't be hard to find another, its always best when you need cash to sell something easy to replace even if you love it.

i thought so, its actually the reason I'm playing them again, even though they was just slight changes they still made me ilk the amp a lot better.
i owned 3 of the older 3ch duals and they didn't sound good to me, maybe i got a few bad ones but i wasn't happy.
i also owned a pink sparkle dual rect about 4 yrs ago and that one sounded better than the 3 i owned after it but not as good as the newer ones imo, i like the roadster better than the older 3ch rectos and almost bought another roadster but after much thought i went back to the newer dual. i also will say i had a older single rect and triple rect and the triple was a nice amp and i owned it for a couple years but i still like this new amp better.

I never understood the hate some people had for rectos, esp the guys that like big low end. Rectos are the voice of the 90s and early 2000s with 1000s of awesome songs using them. For what I play there are other options but they have their place for sure.

yea they definitely have their place and some of my favorite bands like unearth, korn, killswitch, buckethead, alice in chains, alter bridge, george lynch and metallica have used them at some point in their career, just last night my son was asking me some of the bands that used them.

i usually try to dial out some of the lows, i like a brighter more cutting tone and i don't like too much lowend on any of my amps, yea i have amps like the uber and herbert that have lots of lows but i don't use all that lowend, i think the bass is at 11:00 right now on my recto and it sounds just fine to me.

dis nigga can make any amp sounds great but i always loved this clip, just sounds great to me for that type of song.
erock is one of my fav people and i chat with him alot, he knows his stuff.
