Congrats Tom. Looks like a killer amp. I haven't played the reborn dual, but if it is improved like the reborn Triple my friend has, I'm sure it's a killer amp. Playing his triple has made me have GAS for another Roadster - I need to check out one of these reborn duals first I guess.

erock had the dual and has a triple and likes the triple better because it has more headroom and i thought he said it was warmer sounding, i would have tried a triple but i hardly see them for sale used and i don't want to spend 2k for a new one.

Hmmmm.... ahhhhhh.... oooooohhhh...

The 2010 Rectumfier "Forlorn"

Congrats!!!

I just love Mesa rectifiers...

The custom built dual rectifier I got from an artisit realtions guy that works at mesa is just mental... I will never sell it!

If you get a chance, you should throw some KT-77's in that baby!

G.
I saw you posted about that amp, does it sound different than you others??

i know how much you love rectos and i remember you didn't really care for the reborn 2010, i didn't wanna sell the last one i owned but i had just bought a herbert and i also had a esp greenburst kh2 that was coming in and i figured i should sell one of my amps because they are easy to replace, i wanna try the kt77 also.

All I'm going to say is that the guy from Mesa lied to me when he said it was stock... My buddy Larry played it about a week ago and was blown away... He has a 2007 dual rec and he said in no way shape or form does it sound like his... as a matter of fact I sold him his recto! And ya it does not sound like it all... the chrome chassis one I have is full of gobs of smooth buttery liquid gain and it tight beyond tight...

I compared my triple to a dual recto a friend has. I find the triple to be tighter, more saturated, and a lot more headroom. Another thing i noticed was that the duals bass sounded congested, and flubbier than the triples.

OMG  now I know which mesa I need ! Also love the side by side comparison its really much tighter and focused!

Congrats dude! I have yet to try a Reborn! I am stoked for ya!

I had the Dual Rectifier for about a year but ended up selling. They always feel too stiff under my fingers, I don't have fun playing leads on Dual Rectifiers. I owned an old 2 channel, a 2004 three channel and a 2010 Reborn and in the end it was always a huge struggle getting any sort of inspiring lead tone. I think something like a Splawn Nitro does the heaviest as well but solos much better than any Rectifier and with less fizz!

I love the orange vintage on those amps ..dont care much for the modern

Stupid question maybe...

Is the RKII updated with the new voicing / tightness of the reborn?

Just played the dual n trip reborns yesterday. Same settings ,same volume ,same cab ,same gtr. As soon as I hit first chord you can hear diff triple is bigger thicker more present than dual.

Both sounded great ! Love the improvements over old ones. Just that the triple hit harder.

Nothing beats a boosted Recto for good metal tone IMO. They just come alive with a clean boost...

I've owned several early Recto's and they do vary quite a bit from amp to amp. Some are just flat out awesome and others....not so much.

Wow I guess I have not been gassing, I have no idea what a reborn recto is!

What were the changes?

Don't feel bad, we have a deal with them, and I didn't know either.

Now with our patented Multi-Watt™ Channel Selectable Power, an Improved Effects Loop, Channel Assignable Rectifier Choices with RECTIFIER TRACKING™, a TUNER OUT jack with SILENT TUNE feature and an all new Footswitch, the new Dual and Triple are more menacing than ever.
But what’s really got us excited isn’t all the new features you can see on the Front and Rear Panel. Those are great and really useful, but we’re jacked on the NEW TONE!

We’ve unearthed a lot of secrets in the last two decades and we’ve used them all in this new rendering. Improved CLEAN and PUSHED in Channel 1 – a more soulful, earthiness in RAW, thicker layers of harmonics and more liquid gain in VINTAGE and tighter gut-punching attack in MODERN in Channels 2 and 3.
