Since the amp has a very tight bottom end I would assume a recto cab would work great with this amp. I know the recto guy like the traditional cab to help tighten up the flubby recto bottom end. Whats the consensus with the jp2c.

LTD JP-2C due for delivery tomorrow. My wife ordered a matching 2 X 12 cab which has yet to be shipped. Not sure if the build is vertical or horizontal. In the meantime, I'll try different cabs on hand, 4 x12 Marshall paired with the Silver Jubilee, 2 X 12 vertical Mesa with CreamBacks, and a Mesa 1 X 12 with V-30. Also have the TorpedoLive and WOS plugin IR's to try out.

Anything V30 should work well. I have an old Marshall JCM800 4x12 with 65's that sounds GREAT with my Mark IV.

My 2C+ is great with a Mesa 2x12 with EVs, a Rivera V30 cab an 800 cab with 65s. V30s are my choice of the 3 but they all work well.

I'm running it thru a Marshall vintage cab and it sound great but looking at grabbing a Mesa cab the question is traditional or recto.

Most people here will say Traditional. But I heard LOLgreg's OS Mesa 4x12 and it sounded friggin awesome. I was like, "but what about all those negative reviews"?

I'm running mine with a Port City 2x12 OS cab. V30/Creamback combo and it sounds badass, much better than my recto 2x12.

I have a Mesa oversize 4x12 V30 Recto cab, and my JP-2C sound kills through it. Oddly enough my Rectifier head doesn't sound as good through it. I also have a smaller size off-brand 4x12 cab with Chinese V30s in it, that sounds killer with some of my other amps including my Recto, but the JP2C really doesn't sound great through it. So I guess I can recommend one of the oversize recto cabs even though I haven't tried anything else with it.

I'll be the first then. I owned both side by side and completely hated the OS. Even when paired with "lean" amps. It had an inherent bass freq that couldn't be dialed out and I hated that. The traditional was less scoopy and much more neutral of a pallet. Great cabinet with tight, punchy lows.

The JP2C has plenty of low end so any cabinet with enhanced low end would be overkill. And you definately don't want anything that is going to scoop the mids.

Grab Vince and bring it down. I have Mesa Traditional cabs, Marshall cabs with 65's, 80's, 25's, 30's along with Cameron cabs loaded with 30's.

Personally, I like the Mesa Traditional 4x12 the most. It just projects like no other and has that "umph" the really defines the Mesa sound.

I just got mine last week, and I'm running it with a Port City 2x12 regular cab/V30's. Love the tones I'm getting! I had thought about picking up a recto 2x12 cab before receiving my JP-2C, but I just don't see the need as I feel set using my trusty PC cab.

I almost went with that cab/speaker choice but felt like trying something a little different. It smokes the Mesa cab. Creamback speaker pairs well with the V30.
