Just got some amps plugged back in after moving and did a quick clip of the clean channel (1st tighter setting) with the gain up. 45 watt, tube rec setting using a Junior. I think I also had it on the variac/Low Vo setting but can't remember. Super rusty as haven't played in a while but Fuck It...

This time with a humbucker. Older Dimarzio SD. If it sounds not as bright as you would like try going to 3:55 where i remember to roll the tone pot all the way up.. Through the phone I thought it sounded OK rolled off a little. More old school. But I was wondering "where did my attack go?" when i rolled the vid..

Sounds great. Never thought clean would sound like that.

Yup ... Mesa Mark V clean channel is definitely a secret weapon ... works WAAAAY better for those cranked Plexi sounds then Channel 2.
I just tracked all of my guitars for some new songs we are doing using my Mark V, Ch.1, Tweed mode, 10W, Variac power ... tons of cranked and juicy sounds at low-moderate volumes.

I do love that tweed setting. A big key for me is getting the channel Master into a pretty high setting for that extra special sauce.

Nice! I need to give those settings a go. Cool dog as well!

Yea, looks like the switch is in the Variac mode.

I kinda miss my Mark V, but the IV is so fucking good that its not that bad. Too bad my IV is out of commission right now.
