Traditional straight. Tight and focused with heavy palm muted riffing. Recto standard sounds like a woofy flub fest with any modern metal amp. Recto heads sound good through them because they don't actually have that much bass to them to begin with and the added space doesn't hurt.

You're kidding right? If you can't dial in wall shattering bottom with a Recto then it's broken.

I think the recto low end is focused in at a different frequency than a lot of other amps. It does have a lot of bass but it's not that punchy low end that some amps have. When I had a recto my only other amp at the time was a Carvin MTS3200 and I was surprised at how much more Usable low end the Carvin had. It was like a sub low end sort of thing whereas the recto seemed more all over the place. Not as focused and usable like some other amps

Remember that Oversized one that LOLGreg had? That thing sounded great!

What kind of grill cloth did it have ? Black or something else ?

Traditional for classic rock and blues rock; Standard for modern heavier rock and metal

I'm going to disagree with you there. Traditional is tighter, less boomy and still has tons of low end for the modern metal stuff.

Mesa Traditional for the reasons above. I have both slant and straight but if i had to choose one, i would keep the straight.

Slant Standard.

I've never had issues with boom unless playing at low volumes. Once the volume is up it hits like a sledgehammer.

I will have to agree with the masses.

Even though it has been a long time since I have played the Traditional, I recently have played the Standard (Oversized) and it is just way too bassy. Not even kidding at all, entirely way too much low end.

Other than that low end it did sound really good but I literally had the bass setting on my amp off completely and there was still too much low end.

I do think the specific amp will play a factor. Maybe the OS cab works great with a Peavey or something else but with my amp it is just way too much.

I am hoping the Traditional sounds the same without the massive low end because I am shopping new cabs and again, besides the low end the OS cab did sound really good.

I had the Oversized V30 slant.
Used it for years, never loved the result with many different gears. A Marshall size is better IMO. Metal or classic rock.
