Piano was awesome in parts... sounded HORRIBLY out of place in others... guitars were high in the mix which was actually cool... vocals a bit low... not bad overall me thinks...

I agree about the piano. Sounded like a mess at times. Overall, not bad. Good to hear Metal back on the Grammy's.

Is it me or did James look like Will Farrell?

Get ready for the KH and Grammy haters to enter this thread.

Should have let Ringo play drums......

And Kirk cant afford a tuner ?

Sounded like shit-tuh.....

I don't think his guitar is out of tune, he just plays out of tune.

Which begs the question........what comes first....the chicken or the egg.........

I agree with you though. His hands are always -.48 cents flat....

Lars must have been working with a personal trainer the last few months to play that double bass part... :scared:

The piano was...whatever. Could have done without it. The band was on FIRE.

God, I love that fucking song.

Thats what you get when performing with a Panda.

Please keep the jamming where it belongs.....

I'll take a bad performance or mix over lip synching.

Overall I thought that performance was great. Ill admit, the piano did sound odd in parts. The NIN/Grohl/QOTSA performance was great.

Better than watching Ringo "play" the drums while Paul's usual guy was hidden and miced up.

I thought it was terrible. The piano didn't belong and I'm really tired of that song, especially live.

I'm sorry, but I don't know what you were listening to. "On fire"? They sounded like a total and utter mess, in every regard. Hetfield was the only one who came out of that with ANY credibility still intact whatsoever. Ulrich and in particular Hammett need to hang their heads in shame.

Absolute dog shit.

FWIW, I too love that song. Just not here.

agreed-uh

That performance gave us an idea of what listening to Metallica via Liberace's prolapsed ass ,would sound like

I thought it was an intense rendition. Kirk did seem to be tuned to 432 during some of those clean verse leads
