I am only a pre AJFA guy tbh. Everything prior was amazing. Everything including AJFA and after, I never really 'got'

Now throw Lombardo on drums and a competent lead guitarist? I would rock that shit forever.

AJFA is great live, you know, when theres a bass in the mix. Black album is cool too, the rest, meh.

I have every single CD and a few vinyls. The black album is just material that I don't care for. AJFA is more or less better, but it's just doesn't do 'IT' for me. That was actually my first Metallica exposure and I did like it, but since going back earlier in their catalog I preferred the older stuff. There were a lot of stylistic things that changed, and the lack of a bass guitar being there really did not help. Its just not for me. IMO, YMMV, etc.

I tried a few times to listen to this version and man I just can't. It's times like these I honestly wonder if they should just stop.
It's one of my favorite Metallica songs and could barely choke it down.
Same for me, love this song but man... that version... its... its... beyond even Nickleback kind of shit

Song still gives me goosebumps from the 1989 Philly show  Tried posting the youtube clip...wouldn't work.

Oh man, me too! I must have watched that show a billion times on VHS over the years. In my opinion that was when they were firing on all cylinders. Still had the speed, tight, and just bringing it. Lars was still kicking ass on drums too. "Battery" is amazing on that.

At least they didn't rehash something from Lulu or St. Anger Or Reload or Load or Hardwired. I guess.

I thought we all agreed here on the forum that we would never mention "Lulu" again. It is like being in the mob. No "Lulu" talk.

Great, now I have to go get my spleen re-stapled after my dry heave into projectile vomit episode.....

I think this tells that every song on the next disc will have that Whiskey in the Jar attitude that only true Metallica fans love

Plus, I spy a Katana
