Hot damn they sounded good back then.
Yeah that was a great live tone/mix.Say what you want about James’ vocals but that is pretty much THE live high gain tone. Amount of gain, tightness, EQ signature, chunk, clank, etc. It’s all there.
What was he using anyway? Was that his Triaxis x4 rig?
Listen to audience footage of their stuff vs the official live footage. Lars's meter is all over the place, and he never plays the double bass or fills right. Makes you wonder if Mike Clink got fired from Justice for bringing in a ghost drummer.WTF is happening at around 6:15! Kirk nods to someone off stage and then proceeds to TOTALLY NOT play what we are hearing. Watch his hands...not him playing that solo. WTF? I want to hear the actual performance...or do I?![]()
Everytime we put a record out, we lose people that can't deal with the growth.
Lars Ulrich
I think it was try acid but they started using recto in here some where near this time so idkSay what you want about James’ vocals but that is pretty much THE live high gain tone. Amount of gain, tightness, EQ signature, chunk, clank, etc. It’s all there.

They stared tuning down a half step too . Thst helpedWow this kind of shocked me lol Sounds great. I love this era because if you saw them in the right arena, there was this sludge deal to their tone. I like how the low end is Elongated. There is this sag thats kind of cool.
